Exporting Child Theme from Mamp to Host

    Hi All,

    I’ve built out a child theme site using MAMP. Now I’d like to export it to a host. I’ve been reading through a bunch of blogs and forums. Nothing is very clear for me yet in a step by step process.

    So far what I’ve understood is that I need to make a backup of my sql database, replace all url instances with new domain and upload it to the new host through MyphpAdmin.

    Then as far as I understand I need to upload all of my files project files with ftp to the host and run the install using the imported databases login credentials.

    I’m getting really stuck in the sql back up and import process. Can anybody suggest a clear step-by-step way to do all this?

    This is the WordPress.COM support forum. You need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM.

    WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
