Downloadable PDF files?
-
I am in midst of creating a static page in WordPress. Is it possible to add downloadable PDF files? I have placed thumbnail images on static page that I’d like to have readers be able to click on, and download a PDF file. Possible? Widgets? Thanks, Pamela

Excellent, I would like to ask exactly the same question. My blog is EXTREMELY under construction, lol, but I intend to upload the pdf over this weekend and add content too.
I notice this post is 5 days old. Is it still “open”?
Thank you for your help in this matter.
Robert.

@Robert: You upload a PDF the same way you upload an image: post editor > click Add Media > select from computer. If it’s the first time you do it, make sure you click “File URL” after uploading and before inserting. This way you get a text link to the PDF file.
If, like Pamela above, you want a small pic instead of a text link, you’ll have to handcraft it yourself, upload it and insert it in the post. Then switch your editor to html and turn the code to this:
<a href="URL_OF_PDF_HERE" target="_blank"><img src="URL_OF_IMAGE_HERE"></a>
