Domain parked. How can I use it?

    Hi.

    I bought my personal domain https://giusepebotelho.com/ via wordpress.com

    Then, I just changed my mind to make my own website via wordpress.org and had it canceled.

    I want to use my domain but I just don’t know if I can use this domain outside of wordpress.com.

    I don’t want to make another domain via another domain hosting service and be charged twice.

    How can I use my domain (https://giusepebotelho.com/) with another service(not wordpress.com)?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi @giusepebotelho,

    Yes, you can use your domain outside of WordPress.com. To point your domain to another hosting you will need to change the nameservers of your domain. This process is called domain mapping.

    Sure thing. That domain can be restored to the account. I’ve just emailed you a manual payment form for $18 to cover the re-regeistration of that domain. Since we’ve already processed a full refund you’ll need to pay again. Write back once you’ve submitted that and we will proceed with restoring the domain.

    I’d like to know if it’s possible for WordPress to release this domain so that I can buy it through other source. I’m Brazilian and our currency is too low compared to the American Dollar.

    Can the domain be “unparked”?

    Hey there,

    I’m Brazilian and our currency is too low compared to the American Dollar.

    If you are from Brazil, I can change the currency under your account so that you’re paying the rate in BRL rather than USD. The system currently has you set in USD for some reason.

    I’d like to know if it’s possible for WordPress to release this domain so that I can buy it through other source.

    You canceled the domain within 5 days of registering it, so it should be available again soon. Once a domain name is deleted by the registry at this stage, it is immediately available for registration by any registrant through any Registrar, and that happens shortly after the 5 day grace period.

    We can immediately restore the domain for you within that 5 day period, but after that we no longer have control over it. So, depending on where you want to register the domain (with us or elsewhere), you should decide ASAP on how you want it re-registered. You can always point the domain over to your host from WordPress.com until 60 days of registration hits (where you can transfer the domain anywhere you please). That will at least guarantee you will get it back without any potential complications. Let me know.
