DNS settings

  • Hi,

I’m trying to launch a new site with a domain that I purchased through United Domains. They said that I could host it through WordPress, but that I needed to contact you for the correct DNS settings. I was hoping that someone could provide these.

    Thanks,
    Shae F.

  • You will need to set up Domain Mapping to use your domain with your WordPress.com site:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Domain Mapping is included with all of the WordPress.com Plans:

    https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  • Once you have Domain Mapping set up, the best way to map a domain to a WordPress.com blog is to set your domain’s name servers to the following values:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

However, if your registrar requires that you create A records, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records, accordingly.

If you still want to map your domain using A records, please be sure to create two records using these IP addresses:

    192.0.78.25

    192.0.78.24
