Differences between wordpress.com and wordpress.org
-
Hi
I’ve got a wordpress.com site and love the great choice of themes – but i’ve been asked to set up a local community website and they’ve already got a wordpress.org address and there’s only a choice of two themes – Swift or Twenty Ten!Does anyone know if i’m stuck with that limited choice or is there a way to get all the goodies we get here at .com on .org?

Self-hosted blogs using the wordpress.ORG software are supported at http://wordpress.ORG/support/, so for that blog you need to inquire over there, but no you have even more choices, but you have to install the themes, which, as long as their software is up to date, is quite easy.
There are tons of themes available for self-hosted blogs here: http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/
Also, there is a ton of information about self-hosted wordpress, and using themes here:

Thank you!
It’s not the piece of cake over there that I hoped it would be.
There’s all sorts of stuff missing, and loads of ugly extras like star ratings that I can’t find out how to get rid of.
Thank goodness my own blog’s here, not there!
