Deleting Unattached PIctures

If I delete pictures that are listed as unattached, will anything be removed from my actual blog posts and the pictures in those posts? I need to free up some space but don’t want to actually delete them if it means things will go missing from posts.

Unattached images mean that you have uploaded them to your Media library but they aren’t attached to any current post or page (although one of them might be your Gravatar image if you have one) so deleting them shouldn’t affect the look of your site. But if you need to free up some space on a site that’s only two months old (have you checked how much space you have left?) you need to think about using jpg images rather than the large-file-size .pngs and consider optimizing images for the web before uploading them.
