Deleting the Page Name of the Front Page

    If I delete the page name of the front page, will it affect something, like maybe search engines?

    or should i use a plugin like hide title?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi @bturgan2!

    Could you be a little bit more specific about what you mean by “front page”? Do you mean where it says “Site Title” in the tab or on your home page?

    You can’t really hide the title of your page in your tab unless you use a “space” I guess but then it will definitely affect search engines as search engines use that information to display in their listings.

    If you’re looking to hide the title on your page, you can uncheck the box ‘Display header’ as seen here:

    My website is http://www.tehuca.com.

    When you search at google, the name comes as; ”TR – TEHUCA – Otel Tekstili, Otel Havlu ve Terlikleri”. I am trying to delete the ”TR”.

    I can easily delete that from wordpress but I am just guessing will that affect search engines?

    I see.

    Yes, anything you delete from the main title of the site or page will affect the way that search engines index that link and how they display it.

    You can think of it like the title of a book at a library. If you change the title of that book, the library will move it somewhere else, or, at the very least, it will show up differently to someone looking for that book.

    Hi again @bturgan2

    To show up on Google without the “TR”, you’ll need to change the tagline of your website under the “Customizer > Site Identity”. See here for a step by step:

    Once you remove that, it should change on search engines. Just keep in mind that it can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks for it to be changed on search engines.
