Crediting images in caption or in blog text?

  • Hi
I have Custom Design. I place my image credits under the image itself using the main text of the blog (rather than in the caption to the image). This allows me greater flexibility in the font sizes and the placement of the credits. The upshot is that the credits are not as obtrusive, though still perfectly visible. I also embed weblinks in the credits to allow the user to link back to the source.

But if I don’t use the caption, does this have any implications for SEO? In other words, does using the main text and not the caption make the image (and its provider) less visible to search engines, and reduce SEO? That would affect traffic to my site, and also to the image provider’s website, too.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
