    I am trying to add a ticker to my blog from ticker factory I know these are compatible with wordpress but I cannot get the html code to disappear and the imageto appear I am a beginner at blogging can anyone please help?

    Are you trying to place the code on a page, in post or in a text widget in the sidebar?

    If not then please post the html code from the ticker factory here between backticks. The backtick [`] is found to the left of the number 1 on your keyboard in lower case just under the ~. When you use the backticks with the code in between it will not disappear from here and we can help you with it.
