    Using a short and light post as an access point for the customizer is a good workaround in your case.

    I don’t think of it as a workaround, because there’s no reason why the Home page should be used to preview changes. It’s just common sense. But it will no longer be possible with if the new Customizer is the only option for modifying background, header, etc.
