Can't log in w/new username on WP website or apps

Hello,
A little while ago I changed my WP username. I created a new username called “esskay” and then deleted the old user account (in the wp-admin interface) called “accidentalfire”. Of course I ported all my old content over to the esskay account before deleting the old one. It seemed to work fine.I can log in and use the wp-admin interface fine under the esskay account. Everything works. However, I cannot login to the WordPress website (or mobile apps) with the esskay credentials – neither the email nor the username. It says “account doesn’t exist”.
I can, however, log into the WP website using the old username “accidentalfire” and the email associated with it ((email visible only to moderators and staff)). This username however does not even appear in my wp-admin interface, nor the Bluehost c-panel user list.
Please respond to the (email visible only to moderators and staff) email as WP does not seem to be registering the (email visible only to moderators and staff) address correctly.
I wish to keep my username as “esskay” and the email as (email visible only to moderators and staff), but WP website and apps do not recognize them.
I hope you guys can figure this out for me!

Check if your username has been changed via your hosting control panel. You should have access to a tool called phpMyAdmin. If you do you will be able to access your database tables via your browser. Look for a table called wp_users to check your username

Did you click on the confirmation email sent to you via email for the registered address.

Thanks for the response – this is a WordPress.com issue, I do not use WordPress.org.
Yes, my username is “esskay” in the phpMyAdmin panel (that’s called c-panel for Bluehost)
And as mentioned, the old username and account are not visile in either phpMyAdmin, or wp-admin interface
Also I did click on the confirmation email when I registered the new username. It seems that WP.com is not fully deleting the old username account “accidentalfire”

Hi there, thanks for providing that information. accidentalfire.com is using the standalone WP.org software and hosted on Bluehost’s servers and not here at WordPressdotcom

As @iamrishaan and @justjennifer already said, your site accidentalfire.com is not hosted by us (WordPress.com). It is using the self-hosted version of WordPress and it is hosted by Bluehost. Therefore, you need to contact them regarding your issue.
We’re only able to provide support for WordPress websites that are hosted by us. For help with a WordPress site hosted elsewhere you can ask over at the WordPress.org forums:

Also, the username esskay does not exist in our database.
