cannot remove author bio
-
Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed that some blog contributors are able to remove the “author bio” box from the end of their post. I’m not sure how they have done this because they are not admins in the blog. For example, this post and this post do not have an author bio and their bio is tacked in on the end of their post. While this post DOES have an author box.
How does one remove the author box if you are not an admin? Is there a way to do it by adding html code?
I’m kind of a newbie so please don’t be too technical in your answer.
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Some themes have author bylines and author profiles some do not. See here for a list > Author and profile displayed or not http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/08/15/author-displayed-or-not/

But it’s the same blog and same theme for all three of those posts. So how some posts display the author box while others do not?
-
First, that’s not a wp.com blog. Second, in wp.com themes that do display the author profile below each post, the profile is only displayed if the authors have entered some info in their Personal Settings.
But what you should be more concerned about is the pages of the blog linked to your username: they take too long to load because you’ve got too many (30?) posts per page with too many images and videos. For visitors with a slow connection, the browser will time out long before loading all that stuff, and the visitors will see nice big empty spaces instead. If you aren’t interested in visitors from the NASA headquarters only, you should limit the number of posts per page to only a few (in Settings>Reading) and use the read-more tag to truncate your posts.

it’s either wordpress.com or wordpress.org. And those contributors DO have info entered in the bio in personal settings. Scroll down to Harrison for example: http://blog.uloop.com/meet-writers/
They must have found some sort of hack to make their author bio box not appear.

The software of wp.org blogs is different. If you are interested in wp.org issues, you should ask at the wp.org forum, not here.
In a wp.com blog, if you use a theme that displays the author profiles, they will show if and only if the authors have entered info in their profiles: if we were authors in the same multi-author blog and you’ve added some info in the “About you” field of your profile while I haven’t, your posts will display your profile and my posts won’t.

It is a wordpress.com hostes blog.
And one of the authors has a bio section, yet an auther bio box doesn’t show up at the end of his posts.
Scrolls down to Harrison: http://blog.uloop.com/meet-writers/
And notice on his posts there are no autho bio boxs….. http://blog.uloop.com/2011/11/companies-ambassador-programs/

Is not a WordPress.COM hosted blog. period end.

You don’t need to tell us again and again what that blog displays; we got it the first time.
And no, it’s a wp.org blog: if it was a wp.com blog you would see the grey admin bar at the top and “Blog at WordPress.com” at the bottom, and it wouldn’t say “WordPress 3.0.1” in its sourcecode as this one does.
(By the way, the previous reply above was me again, just while logged in under a different account.) -
Oops – auxclass posted while I was typing! By “previous reply above” I meant justpi, not auxclass.

Maybe the standard boilerplate will help:
The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.
This site is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM. You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using: http://wordpress.org/support/
