Calendar changes

  • Until the editor update, when I scheduled a post it would show what days I already had posts scheduled for and what days posts had already gone up. Now the calendar is totally blank, despite posts being scheduled and some having already gone up this month. How can I see the calendar with those items on them?

  • Hi –

Which site are you having this problem with? Try clearing the browser cache once to see if that makes any difference with the scheduling option reappearing.

    Solve Common Browser Issues

  • I had this same issue and ended up talking to a WP “Expert” in chat about it. It appears that functionality has been REMOVED from the block editor. Why, I have no idea.

Basically, anyone who used the wordpress calendar is screwed when the forced switch to the block editor happens.

I’m supposed to get an email from some WP admins about why this function was removed in the next couple of days. If I find out anything I’ll be sure to report back.

If you find a workable alternate, let me know. I am actually considering a paper calendar so I can see a month at time and physically write down when I have posts scheduled. That is just so wrong through.

  • Hello,

I believe you can always switch back to the classic editor by clicking on the three dots (next to the cog icon) at the bottom of the post or page editor and selecting “Switch to Classic Editor”.

Here is a screenshot for you to see https://snipboard.io/HIMsQL.jpg or this screen recording can help as well http://cld.wthms.co/tOOMQu

Then you can go back to using the new block editor when you’re okay.

  • Hi folks, I’ve been advocating for something along those lines here:
    https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/13713

I’ve noted this request. Hopefully it’ll be added to WordPress core :)
