Backup of a wordpress.com Blog
-
Hi,
I would like to have a Backup functionality for my Blog and found several possibilities (like vaultpress).
Apparantly all of these need to be installed via a Plugin functionality. But this is not available for wordpress.com.
What do i have to do to install my Backup Plugin from vaultpress?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

re: plugins
WordPress.com is a multiuser blogging platform. Our blogs are not free standing. There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we bloggers cannot install any plugins. There is no upgrade you can purchase that will provide FTP access and the ability to install plugins, upload themes, and/or edit templates and themes in a free hosted WordPress.com blog.

To use plugins you must hire a web host and then set up your own WordPress.org install. -
Thanks a Lot for the Explantation.
WordPress.com states that there is a “built-in” automatic backup of my wordpress.com blog.
Do you also know some details about this feature? For instance the frequency of the backups?
Thanks a lot in advance.

We don’t have that specific information, but the last time there was a substantial outage (a couple of years ago) the backups were current to 20 minutes before the event.
