Sorry I don’t know what it’s called, or if there’s even such a thing, so I couldn’t search it.

Is there such a widget where in titles of archived posts are randomly listed and featured at the side of the blog?

Actually I believe the poster is looking for a list of random posts, not a link to click on to get a single random post.

Afraid not. You can do it with a plugin with regular wordpress on a host elsewhere but not here at wp.com. Best bet would be to send in a feedback on monday morning and make this suggestion.
