The COVID-19 pandemic has brought entire countries to a halt, but our need to connect with others and find resources and communities online has not gone away — if anything, it’s only become more essential.
Many bloggers and website owners have responded to current events by tweaking or refocusing what they publish. Parents and teachers are sharing resources for keeping kids engaged in learning. Food bloggers post quarantine-friendly recipes. Some business owners are exploring ecommerce options to keep revenue coming at a time where brick-and-mortar stores are struggling. And many use their blogs as an outlet for sharing updates with friends and family they might not see for a while.
What about you? We’d love to hear from our community about the ways you’re responding to this global event. Has your publishing focus changed? Have you found new ways to connect with your audience, or new sources of inspiration? Do you find blogging more challenging?
Leave a comment to let us know — and visit each other’s sites to find inspiration and connect with new people.

Dear Ben! In fact, this quarantine has availed opportunities to dedicate time to blogging at eessays.co, reconsider the site content, come up with ideas, and enjoy time with family members. We should think what positive lessons we can take from this, considering less pollution to the environment as a result of the quarantine. Finally, it is great that people have time to exchange ideas

Instead of spending almost four hours a day commuting, I’m able to write and connect online more. Because it’s the only way a lot of us can communicate, I’m hoping to bring more teachers, students, and parents together. I’m brainstorming ideas to help students with their reading and writing skills in a more personal way online. Overall, I feel hopeful.

Howdy Ben, I have been binge watching Trevor Noah who is also locked down; eating; sleeping and helping my Mum who is being treated in hospital. I have been unable to leave the hospital since Sunday, March 22 when the PM of India had a partial shutdown then the real one came on Tuesday night. I am a Kenyan in a foreign land and will be here for a while longer….so I will start learning the lingo of the land.

Hi Ben!
I’m a new wordpress blogger and one of my first blogs was about OCD and I touched on how it is a confusing time amidst all the Covid-19 chaos for people who suffer from OCD. For example, constantly being told to wash your hands is the complete opposite of what someone’s therapy plan may look like due to their ritual of washing hands and cleanliness.

As part of an assignment, my English teacher is having us write blogs about our thoughts and feelings surrounding the pandemic in order to provide people with primary sources of a historical event. I thought I’d have time to post daily, but I find that a biweekly posting schedule at minimum seems to be the best for me.

For us in Africa, we adapt by following all the measures put in placed by the government, and also with preventive perspectives of herbal remedies.

Hi Ben
I’ve been finding it hard to focus on the writing that I love. So, my whole approach to writing has changed, and writing a blog has never been more of a challenge.
I started writing my blog around five years ago. Advertising myself as a niche-less blogger, it gave me the scope to write about everything and anything. I would pick up on things happening close to home, as well as further afield, blogging about them, from the funny side.
I’m a wannabe novelist and thought I might be in with a shout during 2020. By January, it was full steam ahead with my second novel, which I believed I was going to finish by April. Ha! Unfortunately, my purple patch ground to a halt about 3 weeks ago as the global shit began to hit the fan. Perhaps I had been blinkered up to that point? Hoping it would all go away.
Writing/blogging with humourous overtones has become a challenge. This is not the time to be flippant. I have started writing The Covid-19 Diaries – Life Under the Cloud, which I’m posting on my blog. People are reading them, but not in droves!
I’m sure I will get back to writing what I love, but for now, I am just taking things step-by-step. Our lives are changing, and we are all adapting. Stay safe, everyone.

In February I lost my job to the location closing(unrelated to virus). So, I needed to get my teeth done before benefits ran out, have them removed, false teeth… and so started writing letters to my mom, who died in 2001. Mom had gone through this, and it seemed natural. She had feared it, like me. Yeah, well by mid-March all that went out the window.
Now I’m still have my crappy teeth, and writing to her, kind of to work through my anxiety, partly to communicate my thoughts, get them out of my head… and the format of talking to her is soothing. Helps my family too, reading my posts… helps us connect. But not all doom and gloom… I am also an amateur photographer, and have a 7-month-old puppy…so she features liberally in my posts. Creatively working through my anxiety. 🙏

In my home it’s definitely changed a lot of our daily routine. I would say in a more positive way. Being a single mom of two high school girls we were constantly on the go. Sporting event, Choir events, practice, work, school have us little time to interact as a family. Since the quarantine in our county we have all learned the importance of every single person in our community. On a personal level we have focused more on us. More time for us, better eating habits and more communication. However, the day has its times where we need our space as well. I have began to dig deeper into my yoga and meditation. I just started blogging. I’ve always loved to write and so utilizing my time to sharpen my skills. We try to talk less of how it has affected our daily living by focusing on how it has blessed us with this time together.

I actually just started a new blog because of the quarantine. Inspired by the victory gardens, and troubled by lack of grocery store stock and stay-at-home orders, I started the Backyard Covid Gardener to share how I’m going to turn my backyard into a veggie garden. Previous years I only kept a few small beds, but this year I need production!

India is under lockdown for 21 days from 24th March. Most of the streets are empty and without life. But essentials are being provided. We as a country are doing everything possible to stop the disease enter phase 3. Also being quarantined , I have got time to think about my future plans and hence thought should explore some blogs.

I completely shut down from writing and posting my own blogs! I only reposted other people’s blogs or messages. I have just started drafting one and plan to post it my Monday.
In my 76 years of life, I have never seen anything like this! It appeared unreal but I could hear the bad news on tv and read them on social media. Now I have calmed down and am concentrating on being careful and trusting God for solutions to this pandemic. I also pray for vaccines and medicines to be developed soon for protection and cure for the coronavirus.

I’ve always blogged from the perspective of an expat teacher and literature enthusiast but having taught online for almost 3 weeks, I’ve realised something. Everyone’s focus thus far has been making sure teaching and learning carries on as normal, but after a few conference calls I’m quite worried about the mental health of my students (teaching online prevents me from fulfilling the pastoral care role that’s so easy to do when kids are in school.) I’ve blogged about how COVID-19 has affected me professionally but I think my next few blog posts will focus on advice for students and parents/families. This time’s not easy on any of us, but it’s especially tough on the little ones …:)

I have done the occasional blog post on cherry blossoms in Vancouver in certain past years and I can tell by the blog visits, that it is those blog posts some viewers want to see now..admidst this situation of restrictions, fear, reductions (on all fronts) and tragedy.

Personally, I was discouraged at first to continue blogging because of the pandemic. My blog is about reaching financial freedom through various investment strategies including the stock market. Needless to say, the stock market portion has taken a big hit. It has simply allowed me to focus more on the psychological side of investing rather than making money. Hello. This pandemic and lockdown are overwhemling, life has changed (hopefully not for long!). Blogging is challenging since I have started very recently and still pretty lost in the way of creating content. In fact I’m an infectious diseases specialty graduate, trying to educate my community about the preventive measures against the virus. Also.. I’m very passionate about one of my favorite cities, Jerusalem! And that’s what my website is about 🙂
