To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.
To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.
Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.
Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.
We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:
- We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
- When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
- Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
- Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
- To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.
- When commenting, avoid copying and pasting the same response repeatedly. It makes it look like you’re not really paying attention. Not to mention, it’s spammy.
Currently blogless? You’re a click away from sharing your story.

Well, then welcome.
You chose a cute theme. It looks appealing.
You might want to add an “About” page to your menu (among, Home, Contact, Blog), so that we know a bit more about you and/or what to expect from your blog.
I hope you enjoy your blogging journey!

Great blog so far. You seem to have thought it out real well. It’s good that you link to your outside portfolio.
I left you a couple comments.
1 more thing – the uncertainty post lacks paragraph spacing, so you might want to add that, so it doesn’t look so chunky.

Your site looks very well thought out and professional.
Are you the only “author” on this blog? The “contact “US”” has me kind of thrown. It makes it seem to me like there is more to your blog than you (couldn’t find any indication). So I would just like to see “contact”, but that;s just nitpicking.
What I think is VERY important is for you to just have excerpts on y our Home page. not the full blog post. Once you post more stuff, it will get really hard for anyone who would like to scroll to some of your older stuff.

Hi 🙂 Great start! I would suggest adding an About page to let other bloggers know more about you – they really do read those pages. I would also recommend shorter paragraphs as reading on electronic devices is better suited to a small paragraph so readers aren’t faced with a wall of words.
Hope this helps 🙂

Hi and welcome to WordPress. I love that you started the blog to practice your writing. What better way to practice than to write more! I chuckled when you stated “It means being at peas with myself. My whole-ass self. From spectacular to sucky.” So many people beat themselves up and make them selves miserable over parts of themselves they don’t like. They forget that they have very unique talents and strengths, and if they accept flaws, but focus more on strengths they’d be so much happier. Good luck on your blog and in your studies!

Niraj! It was a Black Day indeed. I empathized with the young boy in your post. Maybe not the death of a parent, but we’ve all experienced that feeling when you’re let down after looking forward to something and not understanding why. I definitely agree that blogging connects us with self.
I just have a minor suggestion: the subject of your post is a little boy but there were times where you referred to him as “her” so I would just make sure your noun/pronouns match.
Keep writing!!!

Wow. Impressive writing! Welcome to WordPress. I read the Black Day. . . It was well written and captured the confusion and fear from a child’s perspective. So often, we don’t think about things from anyone’s perspective but our own. Of course a child seeing this would have a different perspective than the adults. Very powerful! Great start on your blog. Looking forward to seeing more from you!

Hi, I took a look and you’ve made a great start! I’m wondering about your theme as you’ve what looks like a page of paper on the orange and blue background. I did find it a tad confusing as I couldn’t locate a Home page and wasn’t sure if I’d arrived on it or not. Also with your widgets set up below as a footer, your page is empty except for the blog post – was that intentional? If your theme allows you could use a side bar for categories, archives etc. so they are easily located by the reader.
Hope this helps 🙂

You are living my dream!
We plan to move from London to a rural/semi rural place in Scotland – but for us it’s a long process – too lazy to push ourselves to tart the house up! So there’s lots of talking about and a lot less doing. But we’re getting there very slowly. Looking forward to seeing more of your posts! 🙂
