Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

      1. Maybe you should read the rest of the rest of the series so far. I am doing it all for the characters in Les Mis.

  2. Hey, guys it nearly has been a month since I came here, and I can say I’m totally addicted, I like being here getting to know new people learn new things and have a totally different experience.
So, what my blog is about?? It’s mostly about myself, it’s just a platform for the scribbles that were used to be at the back of my notebook, I usually write poems and lyrics.
So here is the link to my blog, I’d really appreciate your thoughts and advices on it::

  3. Wow! I am overcome by the outpour of compassion and recognition for my writing. In the past two weeks, I have been nominated for the Liebster Award by four incredible women. I have been hesitant to cultivate a post in response because of the award requirements, but I have invented a new methodology that works for me. Thank you all for your support!

    1. It could be my old eyes but I found myself straining to read the black and yellow print against the background. Sorry if you were not looking for that type of feedback – just trying to help.

  4. Hi there !
Last week I started my new blog where I want to improve my Greek skills by translating the recipes of a very talented Greek chef based in Athens. Today I posted my first recipe translation. What Do you think of the colours of the blog and photo design ?

    1. Hi Kitty, you might want to play around with your settings as the main header image scrolls down as you’re reading your posts, which makes it difficult to read. Great start, though!

    1. Hi Kela, welcome to the blogosphere! Don’t forget to check out the Friday Forum, it’s similar to the Community Pool but it’s for bloggers whose blogs are less than a month old. There isn’t one this week, but do schedule it in your diary as it only lasts for one day and it’s the best way to connect with brand new bloggers. Good luck!
