Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hi everyone, it’s been a while since I wrote anything around parenting so I thought I’d throw this one out there: How to be a happy Christian parent (2 min read).

    Hope it inspires someone! 🙂
    Excerpt:
At times, the pressure can seem overwhelming but I’d like to remind you of three simple truths that should help you straighten your shoulders and brighten your smile.

    1. Hi! I just visited your site and read two posts. I’m new to blogging too and thought it’d be great to see another new site. Your layout is on point. Your topic areas are not in my wheelhouse but were very informative. I learned about audio gear and music sources, from the two posts I read, so thank you.

  3. Hi! I’m a new blogger with just a few posts. My blog is called Farm To Family, stories from the South to Southeast. I’m sharing stories, recipes, and ponderings. I’d love feedback on writing style and content. I’d also like to grow my readership. Thank you in advance. ~ April

  4. Hello everyone.
I’ve written my first real article regarding the connectivity of things through different examples here at https://bloggedwithwords.wordpress.com/2018/03/07/branches-the-essence-in-all/

Unlike my other posts which deal with my personal life, or things that I think about, I discuss here about how things are worked out similar to that of the branches in trees, or the uniform spread of nutrients through the blood stream.

I, honestly haven’t done any research about the topics involved within, and have completely written down what I feel is right using common sense and logic that I apply in daily life.

Here’s my question: How much in-depth research should I really work out before posting out such material on a blog post? If I think there might be some problem with the facts, should I consider not putting up my opinion?

I look forward to your assistance. Thanks in advance.

  5. I created a separate site page and for some reason it is showing up on two different pages. I have tried to change the settings but nothing is making a difference and I am not sure how to remove the extra page from my home page. I would aprreciate any helpful tips. Thank you.

    1. I liked the tiled layout and the pictures that you chose for the blog, You blog looks promising. On posts – the titles were attractive but I had to go to the hamburger icon on the right to get to your ‘about me’ page. If that shows up directly on the page, it gets easy even for collaborators to reach out to you.
Rest when you develop more content. I think you are on it so good luck!

  6. That’s deep.. I was struck dumb for words and left my mind with thoughts of oh…. I kinda wonder is there a follow on or could there be. As much as I liked it I feel robbed of half a story like there’s more…

  7. Hey folks! So, I am an amateur writer with my area of interest being in fictional short stories.

Recently, I have started dabbling with a mystery story that dabbles with elements of the horror genre.

If you don’t mind a little bit of a read and a lot of nonsense, I would really appreciate constructive feedback, or even a follow, if you like what I have to offer.

Similarly, I am more than willing to offer a one for one trade on feedback or following!

  8. I am a new blogger. I would like to have an opinion on my post. It can be found at acaregivershope.com. I write about the experience of taking care of my mom. She suffered from dementia and Parkinsons. Newest post is about leaning on God instead of oneself. Thank you

  9. Hello, I’m taking a blogging course on Branding and Growth would like your feedback and suggestions of how responsive my theme is. I really would like to know if you think I should change it or not and what your suggestions are. I’ve narrowed it down to themes and they are Affinity and Something Fishy. I have 2 blogs and can be found at http://crystalsphotobloggingsite.wordpress.com and http://daisymae2017.wordpress.com . Keep in mind I need to know how responsive my theme is on mobile devices. However if possible I would like to keep my themes if possible. Can’t wait for everyone’s feedback. Thanks In Advance.
