Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

I have a full-time RV life/travel blog–a niche that isn’t for everybody, but some who share the lifestyle (or are curious) might find interesting. I am working hard on making my travel experiences interesting for any reader–including history and personal experience. I would love some productive feedback. Do you respond to the Daily Prompts? Today, I did, and I’d love to know what you think: https://rustbeltgirlblog.wordpress.com/2018/02/26/the-imagination-in-revision/
As I work through the revision process with my WIP (a novel manuscript), it helps me to think about what, exactly, revision is. How about you? Looking forward to seeing what everybody in the pool is up to!

Hey Rebecca! I agree with you revision does require imagination as we do get to observe certain subjects from different perspectives. That was a lovely post.
I too have responded to the Daily Prompt. I would really appreciate it if you could give those a read.

Hi 🙂
I’d really appreciate some feedback on my post here, preferably in this forum, unless you really want to add to the conversation there.
What I’m looking to find out is whether the main thrust of the article comes through clearly. Is the post too long? Too complicated? (I suspect it is…)
Your thoughts will be much appreciated.
LikeLiked by 11 people
I found that to be very interesting. I am not scientifically minded in the slightest but I found your post to be readable for my level, while still remaining scholarly. Your post is a good length, helped tremendously by the addition of the videos.

Thank you so much, that’s really helpful feedback 🙂

It was a bit lengthy. One thing that could help is a way to structure it. For instance, you could state at the beginning that you will give x number of reasons why the distance of the moon is not a coincidence. You could then number each reason so it’s easier for us to follow. https://gracelead.co

Yes, I was afraid it might be too long. Thanks for the input!

It’s nice to see some positivity! Checking stats becomes quite addictive . . . sometimes I’m glad of a full day at work and that breaks the habit of checking 🙂 I’m still only have tiny bit of interest on Twitter (although have been retweeted tonight!) but I think that’s because I don’t interact on Twitter much at all. Facebook is my medium for family and friends but even so relatively few read my blog from there. 🙂
LikeLiked by 3 people
I know the feeling, but those stats are the motivation 😁 even simply searching for some blog related hash tags to find the blogging trains I talk about can boost you so much on Twitter 🙆🏼♀️ I think interaction is the biggest point I try to put across because it works every time for me 🙃 don’t be afraid to speak up

I’m bold enough on here! I do share automatically but they don’t bite! I share on FB and one family history post was shared on again and I have no idea by whom . . . in early January that post received 169 views on one day . . . it’s now my second favourite post!
So I know the principle ingredient to repeat this . . . write another family history post! 🙂 🙂
