Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

I had a question about linking or sharing other blogs, I’m not really sure how to do that. Do I need pluggins for that? I don’t have the paid version right now so I’m not sure I can even do links. Any advice?
LikeLiked by 5 people
What do you envision? Can you link to a blog that does it? If you mean links to other blogs under one of your posts, that’s achieved by the other blog linking to your post

I think I can ship it. Lol I still have so much to learn. I hope I’m not too old for it.
LikeLiked by 1 person
It’s easy.
1. If you want to link someone else blog into yours, just copy their blog’s address or one of their posts then write in your own post their name or their blog’s name (whatever) then click on an icon with the shape of a staple, paste the copied link and click ok. That’s it.
Now for the award, copy/save the image from the one who nominated you, follow the rules which has been given to everyone, (don’t forget to post them in your own award), and answer the questions.
Just do the same thing the other person did.
If you didn’t understand something just ask 😉

Romance. Hearing the word brings images to mind like flowers, chocolates, candles, dinner dates. Those acts are often done at the very beginning of relationships when you are “woo-ing” that person. As time passes, the romantic acts begin to fade into the past, and life happens. Busy careers, conflicting school schedules, kids, and stress do not mix well to put one in a romantic mood. Hello bloggers
Happy Monday. Just popping by to say hi initially. Will return later to read blogs in more details and continue during the week if I don’t finish as I’m reading Fahrenheit 451. I added a new feature to the footer of my blog page – Instagram where the latest 5 Instagram photos are shown. I’m still hesitant about changing up my layout as I’m scared I’d lose everything I’ve built so far. Also I thank the new followers. I received a spike since my latest post, the link of which I will post. Also my next post will be about tourist traps or scams in Havana. I have to show the other non glamorous aspects of travel as well. Here’s the link for those who hadn’t read the last blog

Hi, swimmers!
I’ve started 2018 by getting organized. See what you think about my site’s new “Categories”–hopefully makes things easier to find. I also began two new threads:
1. I’m charting my journey querying literary agents about my novel manuscript; 2. I’ve started offering “a bit of writerly advice.” (I figure my days teaching freshman writing classes should count for something!)
All feedback appreciated and reciprocated. Thanks! https://rustbeltgirlblog.wordpress.com/

It’d be interesting if you shared the process of contacting literary agents and the lessons you learn along the way 🙂

My advice, since you’r asking: 🙂
First of all, the link to your blog is
https://rileybrokken.wordpress.com/
Secondly, your header is depressingly dark. if you wish, you can download another header for your blog, something that more suits you age or life or color preferences. You can get free images ast pixabay.ccom as well as other sites. Just choose the image you want and download it.
Then go to Themes, hit Customize, and you’ll get another left side bar. header media will be one option. Click on that. you can either choose another picture from the several your theme offers, or you can click on Install and install the new image you’ve downloaded.
I hope this helps. Some people like a “dark” look, but it puts other readers off.

Hi, I agree with the previous comments on structuring your pages. I think your story is really intriguing and a lot of people will relate to what your childhood was like (assuming this is your history and not fiction). You asked for feedback so I hope you don’t mind me sharing my thoughts, I found that the sentence structure made it hard to follow, perhaps slowing the pace a little bit with some additional punctuation would allow readers to take a small pause between words.
Good luck and regardless of any feedback, keep writing.
Take care.

Nice review. So long as a review includes some kind of summary and how it made the reviewer respond or feel, I think it’s a successful one. You could always “star” your review or discuss what kind of reader might also enjoy the book–but I think that was a great first review.

Interesting post, if a little short (and maybe a little repetitive). I think it would have been even more successful if you’d brought in other writers’/philosophers’/cultures’ thoughts on death as our friend. For instance, have you heard of “memento mori”? Some people put a little skull always within sight to remind themselves that death is always near.
