Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hi everyone! I’ve just added a SoundCloud widget thing to one of my posts (because it was inspired by a particular song) and I tried to make it play automatically, but I’m on mobile so I have no way of knowing if it does autoplay, so can anyone test it out and see if it works? Thanks in advance! Here’s the link to the post:

    1. Your blog has a nice, clean look without being cluttered. Very nice! I would suggest either removing the text widget on the right or updating it with something about you. Also, if you are on Twitter or Instagram, those widgets can help you connect with other people.

  3. Hi everyone.
I hope everyone’s blogging is going swimmingly :D.
If anyone gets time, if you wouldn’t mind, please can someone have a read of my second post, ‘Outside of the Box’. Thank you!

    1. I just finished reading Outside of the Box, it’s a great introduction for the other posts that you’re writing relating the autoimmunity in the body! Your writing is easy to follow and easy to comprehend, and your visual of soldiers fighting each other was very helpful. The structure of your post was excellent! I’m interested to see your other posts and learn more about this topic. Thanks for sharing your story and knowledge, I’ll leave a comment or a like on your page to show support. You’re doing great so far!

      1. Wow. Thank you so much! I was unsure about it, whether or not it would be understandable and whether or not anyone would like it. So thank you so much for your words! It’s encouraged me to make sure I keep posting! Thank you.

  4. Hi Everyone! I am a daughter of God, wife, and mother – in that order. It is my goal in life to shine God’s light and it is a blessing when I can use my trials and tribulations to help others! Writing is one of my passions and a gift God has given me. So I am using it to serve.

If I could get feedback on my blog I would really appreciate it!! ❤ I would love to help return the favor!

  5. Hey, I just recently posted a article explaining a possible fix to the Immigration issue here in the United States which appeals to both Democrats and Republicans. If you’re into current affairs I would love to hear your perspective and/or read your content! Check it out!

    1. I should mention I’m mostly a lifestyle and inspirational blogger, a survivor of violent crime and martial artist. I’ve been a writer and creative artist pretty much my entire life, and recently decided to start a blog to both do what I enjoy and hopefully inspire others in the process. ☺️💖

  6. Happy New Year, fellow bloggers!

I have recently migrated my blog from my own domain (http://ankiewicz.com) into WordPress.com. I wanted to see if I’d get better traction with followers and comments if I stayed within the WordPress.com ecosystem.

You can see my blog here:

Is the topic narrow enough? I want to focus on writing and the novel-writing process. The older posts are all over the map but I don’t have the heart to delete them.

    1. I think the easiest way to add more of a pink background would either editing to change the hue of your picture or using a pink filter (such as instagram’s color editing options). Hope this helps and I’ll check out your blog!

      1. I really like your blog! I’m not sure if my phone is having a problem but the link to your instagram isn’t working, you might want to check that out.

  7. I am just starting out with the blogging life… as well as homeschooling… and fulltime rving while traveling the country with my family of 5. I might be in over my head, but all the same, I would like to share my journey into the deep end! I’d love to get feedback on my writing 🙂 I know my site needs some finesse so if you have any input I would love that as well, thanks! http://borenintheusa.com/2018/01/15/because-of-travel-i-have-been-changed-for-good/
