Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hi everyone. I write a tennis blog of a lighthearted nature. This past week, I tried to expand on my creative writing by comparing Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal to dancers, focusing on their contrasting styles. I would welcome feedback. Also, if you like what you read, please follow. Thanks.

    1. A poem through the eyes of a feather was creative. That’s the first time I’ve empathized with a feather 🙂 . It also made me remember times when I or someone I know has felt much like that feather. Regarding design/layout: I find that the dark background with white text strains my eyes. https://gracelead.co

      1. Thank you for both insights 🙂 I’m grateful you enjoyed the poem and yes I am on the hunt for a new theme makeover, just haven’t found the right one.

That gif of them eating pink flowers is my happy place.

      2. I have so many!

The most obvious walk-y type places are along False Creek and around Stanley Park. Both of those walks are a mix of people watching, seeing the city and beaches. If you fancy something more challenging, let me know as I have a whole list of good hikes close to the city.

I have loads of suggestions for yummy food too. There are two vegetarian/vegan places on Main street (The Arbor and the Acorn) that I think you might looove. 😀

  5. Hello Friends,

Before I share my blog with you all… I want to say something to all my Dear Followers and Fellow Bloggers!

Thank you so much for all the love and Good wishes. To be precise 2 months ago, I was thinking of Shutting down my site because I wasn’t getting the satisfaction I wanted. Being a writer , the thing which matters the most is feedback- (whether it is good or bad)

I started posting on community pool with the hope of getting some feedback, Every Monday I used to think that at least someone will take the pain of reading my blog and give me some feedback or some useful advice! …

And believe me, I wasn’t let down by you all ! Everytime I post here, I get continuous love and support till the next Monday which somehow motivates me to write more…so from the bottom of my heart!

    Thank you 😇

This week I am going to be sharing Take 16 and I hope you all will like it!

Take 16: Dussehra – Winning over The Evil

There is a lot more for me to say… Which I am saving up for next Monday 😉

  6. Hello blogging enthusiasts 🙂

Monday is always my blogging day. -A little habit I have to sweeten up the beginning of the week.
I am still trying to find my path in the blogosphere. But I feel that travel and reading seems like a good way for me to go. It’s what I am passionate about.

Make sure you swing by my blog! I am always looking for feedback. (I will obviously gladly return the favour.)

      1. Thank you very much for stopping by and leaving a comment. Those are always welcomed. 😀

I agree, you need to go to Prague. (The food is reason enough, btw.) It is so worth a visit! Keep in touch and let me know how you like it. 😀

      2. Thank you!
I will, although it might be a while. We live in Canada at the moment, so I have to save European trips for when we eventually move back to Europe!

    2. I enjoyed your writing style. It was both easy to read and highly descriptive. That made it possible to imagine myself as being with you on the journey. The images helped too 🙂 For me, the post seemed lengthy. It could have been a series of short posts instead of one long one. https://gracelead.co

      1. Thank you for your constructive criticism. This really gives me something to work with. I like the idea of a series. In fact, I have not thought about it yet. I would gladly give it a try once I come upon a longer write again.
Do you mind me asking for an additional piece of advice? When you write your articles is there something you pay particular attention to? -Besides length. 😉

      2. My guideline is to have one key idea I want to express. Then I select 3-5 points to support my main idea. Once I have a draft, I focus on doing my best to achieve clarity in thought. I edit for good sentence structure and correct grammar.

      1. You are the essence of a travel blogger! I was so wowed by your posts. -And frankly, a little jealous of the trips you were on! I enjoy the simplicity of your writing style. It feels honest and personal. I really liked that. The pictures were a big plus, too. Keep doing what you are doing. 😀

    1. Your post gave good advice. I like the way you gave specific examples of how learning to say “no” has helped you. Have you read the book “Boundaries”? It provides an in-depth discussion of the importance on letting others know what you will and won’t do. I have a summary of it on the Book Summaries page of my site: https://gracelead.co

    1. The scroll work on the glass is beautiful. I have three observations/suggestions: (1) Many of the photos are turned on their side, in other words, sky at the top. From a viewer’s perspective, it’s disorienting. (2) I noticed that your posts are uncategorized. If you can think of some categories for your posts, you could assign each post to a category. You can then put the categories in your Menu. That way if a visitor wants to see all posts in a particular category, they can. (3) I liked your tip on the importance of key words. I didn’t see tags on your latest post. Perhaps you have them and they are not displayed. Tags on your posts are the equivalent of keywords. https://gracelead.co

      1. Thank you for the feedback, I can’t figure the picture thing out, when I insert them they are the correct ordination but after it’s posts they get all crazy, I still have a lot to learn but with the help of the blogging community I’m sure I will get there. Thank you again!

  7. Great topic. I badly want to change my life for the better. I don’t want a life changing event to be the reason for it. But it’s easier said than done. Check out my blog if you have a minute to spare as I’ll check out your as well. Im currently going through a hurricane of feelings and at times humorous post if you like a laugh.

  8. My goal is to help Movie lovers around the world by telling them what to watch.

This doesn’t mean you will get to know the best movies but, instead, 3 well thought suggestions to brighten your day.

Fresh new movie suggestions almost everyday.

    1. So what’s the latest movie that you recommend to us this year? You have a great blog. Very entertaining, can you send us a link “free to download movies?”…… oopppss… Be careful, piracy is a crime. haha.

        – Baby driver (Action)
        – How to be a Latin lover (comedy)
