Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

is where I blog about navigating life with a vagina… in other words… being a woman in this world. I am not a feminist or anything like that, just writing about life the way I experience it as a woman, the content delivery is in a humorous tone ( I think) because life is too serious as it is… It’s a raw rendition of the way I see things so if you want to know the answer to questions some of life’s toughest questions, my blog probably isn’t it…however if you want to know what a little island girl thinks about how having a vagina in this world is completely different than having a penis come on over and have a look and let’s chat too because I love to talk…

I think it looks really good – it’s a strong quirky graphic (I like the orange block on rolling over the post titles). Great layout, and great content too.

This morning I saw a tourist taking a photo of a pub in my city (Dublin), and it made me think about the things I take for granted in my metaphorical back yard!

Hi fellow bloggers, posted after a long time. This poem was written to be spoken at spoken poetry fest but I couldn’t make myself go over there and speak in front of hundreds so here it is, written from behind a computer screen where my heart won’t thunder at the prospect of you reading it.
Have a good day!

Really powerful, a little sad – and very well written. If you decide to recite this, or other, work live before an audience (you should!) I hope it goes well.
Thanks for sharing this.

Very nice! It feels very Kafkaesque with that sense of disorientation at being sucked into an alternate world that somewhat stifling and oppressive. I like how clipped your sentences are which helps the flow of it and your paint a very intriguing picture in a short amount of time. Thanks for the read! 🙂

How I write my posts: usually I figure out what’s on my mind at the moment and attempt to keep it consistent with what I’ve written in the past. Ideally, I’d like to post once a week, still finding that discipline! Maybe the weekend. What days do you all find to be helpful to post? Thanks!

When i was at university I found Tuesday was the best day to post a blog to fit in with my lecture schedule, although since graduating Tuesday seems to bit of a harder day, so tend to write it at the weekend and schedule it for Tuesday to keep to my current plan. It also means if I know if I have a busy few weeks I can write a handful of posts and my content will be updated, even if I’m not active on my blog

My blog is pretty new, but I like to post on Mondays. I find that I have time to consider possible topics over the weekend, so I usually end up with a mental outline before I sit down to write on Monday. This week, I have several ideas, so I published one post and am working on two more that I plan to schedule for later in the week.

I really like your content!! it’s fab 😀 The only thing I’d say would be that there’s sometimes a space in front of the comma, which makes it a bit trickier to read. Apart from that I think it’s great. Have a wonderful evening 🙂

Hi Julia, would be much easier if you could past the link to your post here. The way to do it (in case you don’t know) is to open your blog on your browser from google or something and then navigating to your post and then copying that link and pasting it here. Its just a bit faster that way to check out your post :). Hope you don’t mind it to much, just a suggestion though.

Hi everyone!
I’m very new to the blogging community but have been desperate to give it a go for a while. I’ve tried once before to get into it but it didn’t stick.
I’ve started a new blog and posted my first post this evening. I’m keen to write about nannying and the daily dramas and funny things that happen. I would love some feedback/tips on what I’ve written so far.

With the topic I’ve chosen to write about, I don’t know if I should be writing a blog or just a “How To” web site. Honestly, I’m not even sure what the difference is anymore. I feel like I just stepped out of the past and I have no idea what’s going on with the internet in 2017. LOL!

Hello Everyone,
I have just posted a story on my blog. It’s about being creative against the odds.
Could tell me one thing that you like and one thing that you don’t like about it? (text and design-wise). How could I improve it? 🙂
Thank you in advance!

Likes: the layout and simple colors on your blog. the font. I love the image of the shards of glass becoming an emerald dress that she puts on.
Dislike: honestly, just that I wanted more to happen! I know it was just a short creative post and it was good for what it was, but I wanted to know what comes next.

I’m thinking about this more, I guess this story was just about the birth, so more will come eventually, I hope.

Thanks! I’ll bear this in mind. I try to keep my posts short, but yes, maybe more action would make it more engaging 🙂 Or the story will continue in a new post?
LikeLiked by 4 people
It didn’t even necessarily need more action, but just more description would be awesome. I loved your imagery in the beginning when she walked outside and how you described the air, and the part with the emerald glass at the end, but I feel like more of that throughout would even just make the short story a little bit more intense. If that makes any sense, I don’t know, I’m no professional or anything, just giving you my thoughts!

Thank you! I really appreciate your feedback. Will think about it with regards to this story and others too.

The thing that I was expecting at the end was the deep meaning and the lesson of the story. Or I did’t probably get it? But what is the message? And remember this only my opinion and my point of view. What I like about the story is that it is very well written, no unnecessary words, it definitely draws the attention of the reader. If you manage to implement some moral outcome of the story you will be a very successful writer 🙂
LikeLiked by 4 people
Dear Sylvia, thank you! The message is hidden behind the illustrations. They are the triumph of creativity over evil forces. But perhaps, this is too implicit. I will try to develop my stories more as this seems to be the overall feedback that I’ve received.
