Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hi all, this is my latest post https://gemmamcloughlinburke.wordpress.com/2017/09/25/a-letter-to-my-four-year-old-self/
I’ve drastically changed my style of writing in my newest post from my usual sharp wit to something quite personal and I’m dying for some objective feedback as my family and friends don’t want to hurt my feelings!! I just want to know from an objective point of view if this is the type of writing that people can relate to if they don’t know me. Appreciate any feedback and happy to offer some in return!! 🙂 🙂

  2. Hi all fellow travel bloggers,
If you heading out to Nepal for some adventure, you should also take a look at this serene place that is in stark contrast to all the action.

    1. Anything in particular you wanted feedback on? I used to be an English teacher in Japan if you had any specific advice you were looking for.

    1. Hi, I like the style of your blog. Book reviews are always welcome and you put your points across clearly 🙂 I like the way you mix up reviews, author interviews and poetry etc. It’s good!

    1. Hi Gabbi. I like the way you write, it is very chatty which is good because your blog is about your personal experiences. I think your blog posts are almost like a conversation or just chatting with a friend 🙂

      1. I mean, if we start to drink everyday, then I think that we get addicted, because we won’t be able to function without it. To be honest with you, I hate the commercials on TV. They show everyone drinking and having a good time, when in reality, that’s not the case most of the time.

  5. Hello fellow bloggers ! I’m new to blogging and was curious as to where the majority of your followers come from? I have been posting my blog on my personal FB page and the majority of comment then are written on my FB post. I kinda feel as if I should have just stayed on Posting on FB and cut the middle man out! Haha trying to expand my blog further then my social media if that makes sense. Also any tips on my blogs and my page !!

  6. Hey everyone ! I have a new post up that I’m hoping to get some feedback on. I’m making every effort to be consistent. Someone suggest keeping multiple drafts which has helped. Luckily, I have a journal that I write down my post ideas in as they come.

    Here is my post! http://wp.me/p7i2TO-AN

I’ll be scrolling through here to find new blogs and posts as well. I’m interested in music, health (holistic and medicine), travel, Christian blogs, Inspiration, and poetry. However, I’m open to new topics. Thanks !

  7. Hi guys, I have just posted a new blog about a recent trip to the Dolomites in Italy. It’s by far the longest post I have done to date, but feel that as it reads like a journal I can get away with it. Maybe?

The trip also gave me a good opportunity to get some shots to update my site header photo, which makes it a little more personal.

Hope you enjoy, and any feedback appreciated as usual.

    xx
