Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.

Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)

    1. Good start! Your pictures and set up look nice and clean, good quality. Your about page is right to the point and clear, but you may want to add a little more about yourself. People love to get a glimpse of who you are too!

    1. Beautiful site, and I loved reading your post. It is great to “meet” you! Sorry to hear about your struggles, but it definitely seems like you are in a great place today. And honestly, having those skills your dad taught you, are invaluable! Can’t wait to read more on here. The only tip I can offer is to make a menu….just a clear place to put your about me section, a blog or home tab, and maybe a contact tab if you like.

    2. Hi 🙂 Looks like you are off to a good start with your content. This might just be a quirk on my computer, but possibly something to look into, your menu tabs force me to open them in a new tab. Not sure how to resolve this, but again, I would assume in the settings somewhere.

    1. Love your blog 💖 this is the first time I’ve seen this First Friday tread, also I mean I just figured out this WordPress app and reader part too lol. I’m also fairly new, I started in May of this year so only about 3 months of blogging 💖

      2. Thank you for taking a look at it 😊 I really appreciate it 🙂 I used what I think is called ‘market’ theme I bought it of a private site, when I first saw the lay out I loved it so much I was like – I must have this 🙂 so I did lol 😂

    2. Very nice! I like the variety of topics and look forward to read what you add to them. It always makes me laugh when entry level positions say 5+ years, so I can appreciate your frustration 😉 You may want to take a peek at your menu. Under recipes, “cooking” has nothing attached to it. You can edit that with the customize>menu tab.

    2. wow, that certainly is a descriptive essay! Nice work, the imagery is impeccable. That sentence about the grape made my skin crawl, but I assume that is the point 🙂 Keep up the good work!

You may want to just consider adding a home or blog tab next to the other two, just so it is clear how to navigate back to your home page with all the posts. Good luck with your writing!

    3. Nice work with using the prompts! This is very good writing, albeit romantic fantasy 🙂 I have never tried those prompts, as I am not a “writer”, but it looks like you had fun with it! Good job!
