Community Pool

Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

    1. Hi Fahad, this is a well-written blog. I particularly like this sentence: “But I soon realised that the moment is not a sole manifestation of the view but the feeling we get from it.” I have often been disappointed with photos I took of impressive scenery as they didn’t convey how amazing it was to be there to the people I showed the photo to afterwards.

    1. What is Pimms? I went to your post because I was curious about Pimm’s. When I saw your photo at the top, it looked like a picture of tea. Based on what you said, it appeared that Pimms is some type of alcoholic beverage. I’m still not sure 🙂 https://gracelead.co

      1. Hey,

Pimm’s is an alcoholic drink that you tend to drink in the summer- traditionally at Wimbledon, at BBQs and at picnics. You should try it!!! Xxx

  2. Hello everyone. I was travelling but now I am not and I have written a blog about it because some people I know are looking at me seven times in the street before realising it is really me and many people have been so baffled that I did not tell social media that I am back so now I am conforming in order to gain acceptance and successfully integrate back into English society.

    1. Your blog looks pretty good, and you seem to be really good at blogging within your niche. Your post description above, doesn’t match the link that you provided below, but I clicked around and I found it, and it looks pretty good. A tip would be to maybe edit some of your featured images, because some of them appear to be pixelated. Keep up the good work!
      xoxo,

    1. I enjoyed the post about the floor and the family story behind it. Navigation was a bit awkward. It seemed as though My Life would be part of About Me. Your three categories of posts appear to be Water, Daily Life, and Books. Since those categories are on your Menu, you can simply let recent posts fill your Home page. https://gracelead.co

  4. Hello everybody,

I’ve just started my blog about two weeks ago and I was wondering if I could get some feedback on my posts.
I post about my opinions on things that are going on in the world and I’d love to know what people who aren’t just friends trying to be nice think about it.

Also, if you could, I would LOVE some suggestions on what I should post about. I have a lot of ideas, but I would like to know what anybody else wants to hear my thoughts on.

      1. Thank you for the feedback. I was really thinking about it, I’m not that great at making my paragraphs flow, lol. Also, when I get to writing or ranting, it’s hard for me to stop, lol. I will definitely give that a try though, thank you.

    1. Your post about London just made me miss it! Your writing is enjoyable, I personally enjoy a few more photos, but it’s not necessary.

I like the overall look of the blog, because I am using the same theme with a few changes 😀

      Keep it up!
