Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

Hey everyone!
My favorite quote is by Martin Luther King Jr. It says “Darkness cannnot drive out darkness, only light can do Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that”
With everything going on in the world I find this statement could not be more true or more relevant right now.
Let’s love each other.

Hello to all the readers and writers out here!
Words in the form of poetry, can be used as swords against the darkest fears and can be used to express the joy of celebration. Isn’t it? I love the way poetry let’s you identify the depth of your emotions and feelings. I recently gave it a shot at poetry and would love to know what you think about it!

Hello, Meher!! Thank you so much for sharing your poem! I found the diction and lines breaks to be useful for your particular brand of expressing emotions. I think that’s what I’ve always adored with poetry: the ability to be as concise or wordy in a particular form (or no form!). Did you enjoy trying poetry? You’re a great writer. I wish you all the best. Cheers! 💫

Hello! I sincerely enjoyed having the opportunity to read your poem. I liked the simplicity of it and how well it strengthened your imagery. Do you write poetry often? I know when I first started I struggled with not writing poems as if they were journal entries and then struggled with the so called poetry tools (i.e. enjambment, rhyme schemes, extended metaphors etc.) until I realized I had all those tools they only need honed. I hope you keep at it. Thank you for sharing!! Cheers. 💫

Hey thank you for reading and constructive feedback! I write poetry very rarely, it’s more of a spur of a moment thing for me. I’m not a fiction writer and there’s not much poetry I enjoy so I sort of prefer to write it as prose in verse if that makes sense. Thanks again, will be checking your blog out too 🙂

I’d like to invite everyone to come by and check out my poem of the week, “Tea Parties & Madcap Laughs – Remembering Syd Barrett 11 Years Later.” Friday marked the 11th anniversary of the classic rock icon’s passing, and as a huge fan of both Barrett and Pink Floyd, I see the need to remember him. There’s a short thought piece before the poem, and I encourage both to be read. Comments and feedback are always welcome, and please leave them in the comments section of the post page, and click the like button on the post page. Hello fellow bloggers! Hope you’re all doing well. I started a blog very recently and don’t have a fixed theme yet, but I’m thoroughly enjoying it.
However, I can’t seem to figure out a few things.
1. When you open my blog, it doesn’t appear like a regular website. It appears to be like a web page super-imposed on another, with a black outline. (It’ll be more clear what I mean once you have a look). I’d like to fix that.
2. All my posts appear one after the other on a single page. I’d like a constant home page and links to the individual posts on the side or bottom.
Please help me figure these out. Any input is appreciated.

My latest post was about the concept of Polygyny in Islam. A man with more than one wife has surely been a widely misunderstood concept in the west. I have tackled the issue from two sides in two posts, the first was from the medical side, and the second was from the historical and Shari’ah side.
Kindly find attached the link to the second post for it’s the latest of them both. The two posts could be read separately without any problem in understanding.

Hello!! 😄 My blog is a daily word or phrase in the British English language, sorta like a dictionary word of the day.
So I’ve read a few posts and have followed suggestions, but I haven’t noticed an increase of visits to my blog from the pins I’ve uploaded and shared on Pinterest. I have a surprisingly high number of followers there, so I don’t think it’s due to lack of followers. Would anyone have any tips and tricks they’d love to share with me, even their own experiences?

Thank you so much! ♥️💫

I’m still trying to juggle my social media with my blog, and it’s been a year. Perhaps you could link yourself between individual pins and individual posts? They end up referencing each other, and the curious can go digging through more pins and finding more posts, which leads to finding more pins that link to other posts, and so on, and so on. Of course, this is just a suggestion from someone who doesn’t really know how Pinterest works…

Thank you for taking the time to comment! I had been contemplating something very similar to your suggestion; perhaps I’m on the right wavelength and I’m just impatient! I only logically figured with my Pinterest account my highest followed social media account that’s where I ought to have the greatest interaction. I’ve only been blogging for two months. And I only recently, within the last couple weeks, linked my blog to Pinterest. Thanks again!!

I used to link my posts to my pinterest account too, but I noticed I wasn’t getting too much traffic there. Now, I link my posts to my twitter account and reference my blog posts on my Instagram account. I think popularity of the social media plays a big role. Most pinterest users aren’t looking to click links; instead they want to pin photos and ideas to their various boards.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question! I’ve mostly figured that out by trial and error, but it’s nice to have it reaffirmed. But I’m simply surprised about pinners not clicking a pin with a link: because most food recipes for one are generally links (that that this has anything to do with my blog), but also perhaps one of my most popular boards is a Writing one and a good chunk of those pins are links to websites. Oh well. I’ll keep at it. Thanks again for your feedback, I greatly appreciate it! 🙂

I will have to second Jade and say that Twitter is MUCH better for link sharing. I’m always clicking through to articles I want to read on Twitter, but on Pinterest, I just want to look at pretty things. I actually have a ton of fun with Twitter so I’d encourage anyone to at least consider opening a Twitter venture for their blog.
(On a side note, I really like the concept of your blog. It’s a dictionary, but with fiction. So, better.)

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me! I have been sharing links to my blog via Twitter; I assumed I would have better luck with Pinterest because of all my social media accounts, that’s my highest follower count. Perhaps I ought to try different avenues with Twitter then? Thanks for the feedback!! Also, I’m glad you like the concept of my blog. 😃 Cheers!

I also would like to say the title of your blog is insanely clever! I’ll have to come check it out more later on.

Hey Tony! I just checked out your blog. I like the experience that you offer in your posts, but I would like to point out the formatting seems a little funky to me. With all-white backgrounds, post formatting is huge IMO. The sub titles stick out and just look a little awkward, but I like your writing style!

This may sound like a trivial observation, but I really like that you’ve “left justified” your headlines. Visually striking without being distracting.
Looking forward to following!

Hello everyone! I recently picked up my passion of blogging again, and I love sports. I started writing about the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA. My goal is to provide more detailed content, instead of a quantity of content. If someone could check out this article I wrote, and maybe leave me some feedback on my writing or site design, etc I would greatly appreciate it!

Isn’t watching Lakers last few seasons painful enough? 🙂 Kidding of course… good luck with Lonzo Ball; hopefully he’ll be able to kickstart franchise back.

Hi WP Community!
I hope you enjoy my latest post:
I needed more than 20 years in the classroom to become a successful surgeon, but only 6 months as a homeless hiker to discover several of life’s most valuable lessons…
