Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.
Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

Hello 🙂 I have published a new post and I am dying for some feedback xD all jokes aside, I write about things I have been through and things I think about, my feelings and all that, with an occasional comedy twist and a short story here and there. I would love for you to check it out and tell me what you think 😀

Hello to all happy hippies. It’s a beautiful day to talk about Foodwaste! Join me on my blog where we can discuss environmental issues and you can read about my quest to remove palm oil and to embrace a ZeroWaste lifestyle!
I would love to inspire fruitful conversation about the issues of the environment and consumption. My latest post is about the big issue of foodwaste:

Hey everybody, I’m new to the blogging community. What’s some tips you’s suggest? I’m excited to learn more about the WordPress world.
Maybe we can get the ball rolling!?
LikeLiked by 4 people
I think my biggest tip is to engage in the WordPress community! I used to wonder why no one was reading my posts, but then I realized that I wasn’t reading anyone else’s posts. Community pool is a great resource because you get to interact with peers and offer feedback and comments. So you’re already off to a good start! 🙂

Good point! Thank you for the tip.

Welcome on board. My number one tip is write what you want to write and not to please other people. So your Drop A Topic is really great for that. I’m sure you’ve got a lot to tell people about. If you are interested in more tips, you can check out a post I wrote about a month ago when I reached a year on WP. I shared some insights on what I had learnt during the year.

It’s interesting from a prose point of view: here you are, talking about people flipping on phones so they could take pictures and video, presumably to share, but you didn’t share any of them on your post. Part of your point?

I notice you have a vlog; why make one, if I may ask? I’m just curious as to why bloggers do so, and it’s an idea I’ve been playing with.

Hi! I made the vlog only because I thought it would be fun. And I was right! 🙂 I can also share a few things that I can’t possibly put into writing (probably because it’s too complicated, or just better shown than read about). Finally, some of friends and family enjoy watching videos more than reading. So it’s more for them than other people 🙂

Thanks for the suggestion! Won’t it overwhelm the page with too many pictures? I’ve been wanting to try that. But I feel like, since I already have thumbnails for every blog summary, it will be too much! lol.

Nope, I don’t think it will. I have seen many a people doing it specially the ones who are travel bloggers and it looks really cool. And by the way, I did have the privilege to watch my first ever Filipino movie “Siphayo”. Loved it. ^^

I enjoyed your post! The one piece of feedback that I would give is that you could touch up some of the grammar. For starters, you could look into the commas as well as the articles. Have fun with your photography!

Thanks for your feedback. I’d wanted to put some pictures, but was worried that it might distract from my words, which should be the star of the post. Perhaps I’ll do a follow-up post with some pictures later on.

I used to think taking too many photos whilst on holiday made me stick out like a tourist, but nowadays, everybody, local and tourists takes photos all the time, so it doesn’t really matter. I’m glad I have so many photos of all my trips, it brings back so many great memories.

I really love the layout of your blog. It’s simplicity, the usage of the font, the photos seems to correlate well with each other. The only downside is that you don’t have a follow button and It might be due to your hosting from a site other than word press. Do add a ‘Follow blog’ button from the widgets.

Hello, this is my latest blog post. https://smalltunegirl.wordpress.com/2017/07/10/folk-in-the-woods/
I’m currently trying to decide how to best place photos in my blog to make it more visually appealing. Any input on that or anything is greatly appreciated.

Using photos in your blog is a great way to break up large chunks of text, and if you post happens to be a long one, a picture speaks a thousand words. I always make sure I have at least one, and normally five or six good quality ones in my blogs, otherwise I think posts can’t be quite bland.
You don’t seem to use any widgets or categories on your blog, and I had to scroll all the say down to the bottom to find your first post. It would be easier to include an About page so people will know what your blog is about.
LikeLiked by 1 person
The page theme I’m using has the categories also listed all the way at the bottom. I also was not a fan. I’m working on that next. Thanks for the idea on the about page. I’m going to head over to your blog now to see how you’ve incorporated pictures. Thanks for the feedback!

Hello everyone, happy Monday! 🙂
My blog is about names! I just started a new post series where I’m curating selections of rare baby names that are currently in use (in the U.S., anyway) and posting the lists in alphabetical order. Hopefully, I can help anyone looking for names under a specific letter!
Although I’ve just published the second post of the series, it’s the second of a two-part post. Here’s the link to the first post, which is also very recent and gives a more detailed explanation of what I’m doing: https://wellinformednamer.wordpress.com/2017/07/07/rare-a-names-for-girls-part-1/
I’d love to generate some name discussion. Thanks for reading!

I don’t even know where to begin. First off, thank you for sharing such a wonderful post. I had a mix of emotions just reading this. The way you portrayed your grandfather was very genuine and I felt as if I was reading about my own grandfather. I loved my grandfather dearly and he was one of the most dearest person to my heart so reading this post made me think of him. I thank you for writing this piece and it makes me so happy to see that there are wonderful grandchildren out there who respect, admire, and adore their grandfathers as much as I did mine. Wonderful read!
