Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.
Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?
The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:
- Learn, a series of step-by-step tutorials for those just starting out.
- All our posts on building an audience and growing your traffic.
- If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are our Daily Prompts and other ideas for writing topics.
- A roundup of posts on blogging etiquette.
Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).
Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.
To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:
- While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
- The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
- If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
- We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
- Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
- To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
- If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
- No running on the deck.

Week 4 of challenge to write one blog post on Sunday and then post it on Monday. So far, so good it seems… I’m managing to stay on the threadmill. Here is this weeks post:

Considering I am able to deliver I am thinking about adding more constraints. Like – post exactly at 8 am every Monday morning. Do you fellow bloggers have any suggestions on something beneficial I can introduce? Any topic you want me to write on? Do you like posts so far? Looking forward to comments!

Hi everyone, and happy Monday! My latest post is about the difficulty and the importance of having compassion for other people while we are suffering. It’s a lesson that I have definitely been learning in my own life. Though it’s a tough one, I definitely believe that it’s important!
I appreciate any feedback, as well as any thoughts about the “look” of my blog; I have kept it pretty streamlined, and would certainly appreciate people’s thoughts about that decision. Thanks!

Hi everyone! How are you guys doing?
Over the last few weeks, I’d been working on a fiction series called “Missed Opportunity.” It is a 3 part series. I finally got done with Part 3 on Sunday night. It’s up on my blog right now.
I’d really love some feedback on the content. It’s my first attempt at fiction. It was a bit daunting, but I got through it somehow đŸ™‚
Here are the links to all the 3 parts:

I always find that I have all my articles for the week ready to post at midnight on a Saturday, which is of course not the best time. When I set a scheduled post it always has an error when trying to go live. Is there any other system people use to keep their posting on schedule?

I read the poem just posted and then had to go and read the first, hun. Very intense words of wisdom. You have a wise and very ancient soul, and I only mean that in the best way, I thank you very kindly for your words, and look forward to reading more. Now, for the constructive criticism portion: I really liked the start of the first one, Precious Things, just that one word in the first poem opens up so many wonderings. Who is fragile? Are we strong or are we fragile? Can we be both? (I say yes, we can!) Was the cradled creature the fragile one, or is the one doing the cradling the most fragile of all? That first poem got me thinking just a little more then the second part, but as a continuation the second portion was spot-on and very thought-provoking.
For me, taken together, these two poems so elloquently illustrate the human penchant for bottling up emotions and living with words unsaid, felt but never expressed, and missed opportunities due to fear or uncertainty.
Very well put, hun, very well said, you painted a picture in my head and had me hanging on until the end, and then left wanting more! Thank you!

Thanks so much for taking the time to read and for your wonderful words. I was thinking a lot of the same things you mentioned above as I wrote those poems and I’m happy to know those thoughts translated well.
Again, thank you so much for this overwhelmingly positive response.

I always get excited to see other politics bloggers. There’s not enough of us on WP (read as: it’s totally worth pursuing).
Though I’m not very familiar with the nuances of UK politics, your recent post brought to attention a number of issues and themes that are prevalent in nearly every country. I liked that. I’m giving you a follow to see what else you have in store.
Just two things: 1) Is there a reason the space between paragraphs is double-spaced rather than single-spaced? and 2) did you mean to disable comments on your post?
