Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to his or her very first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your first post with us, copy and paste the link right into a comment here. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment.

Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers.

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • When commenting, the third time is not the charm: don’t share the same link repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Link directly to your new post, rather than to your blog generally — it makes it that much easier for folks to like the post or leave you comments.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

      For the placeholder text in your blog’s sidebar (the “This is a text widget” bit) — you can remove or edit that by going to My Site > Customize > Widgets. Look for the Text Widget!

      2. You don’t have a menu widget, and all the images in your posts are showing full-size. The header image in your theme automatically displays the way it currently is when you have your site set up as a blog. If you want the full-size image the way the demo site does, you need to follow the instructions here to create a regular website with a static homepage, instead of having your blog on your homepage: https://wordpress.com/theme/lodestar

        You might not want a static homepage, though, so this might not be the theme for you!

      3. Even the lodestar header image is full? I am using it on mobile and it us showing half , I will do the changes, heres my request can you suggest me a good theme for my post, I would be thankful

      4. Have you looked at it on a full-size computers? Many themes adjust themselves for mobile.

        I’d try previewing a few different themes, and seeing how they look on your phone, and then making a decision.

      5. Actually I am staying in a place where there are no access to computer, I have been staying in a Hostel out of india for next 1.8 years , all I have is my cell, since you can see the image is full size, I ll continue with it ,Thanks for your help.

  27. Cantbreakbroken.wordpress.com I started this yesterday, I haven’t written in years. Sharing my life the way it really happened. All thoughts and feelings will be included. I’m just barely scratching the surface as I haven’t even made it to senior year of HS in my story and I’m 30. I’m using this space as practice and a way to build confidence in speaking about my life and the horrors I’ve faced. Thanks for reading.

      1. Thank you. It’s taken me years as I will be 30 in a couple months. It’s a little all over the place but like I said, I haven’t written in years. I will keep digging deep and sharing it the way it flows through my heart and mind.

      Close! That link goes to your dashboard, which is private, so people won’t be able to see your site. The simplest way to get the public link is to go to your blog’s homepage and click on the post title. Then, copy the address you see in your browser’s address bar and use that.
