If you’re not new and are looking for support or feedback, the Community Pool is the place for you!

To learn more about blogging, take a Blogging U. course.

To find, copy, and paste your link:
Head to your blog’s home page — not your dashboard, your blog itself. Click on the title of your post to open the individual post.

Highlight and copy the URL you see in your browser’s address bar, and paste the entire URL into a comment here.

Welcome to First Friday, a weekly open thread where any new blogger can share a link to their first post with the larger WordPress.com community. To share your post, copy and paste the link right into a comment here.

Posts should have been published within the last month, and should be your first post. We’ll remove other posts to keep this space focused for new bloggers. If you’re not new, you can still be a part of First Fridays: visit a link or two, and leave the blogger a like or comment!

We ask that you help us keep this space focused by following a few additional guidelines:

  • We encourage anyone who shares a link to visit a few other bloggers. New readers for all!
  • The third time is not the charm: don’t share your stuff repeatedly, or in multiple First Friday threads. We’ll remove repeat posts.
  • Please don’t use this as a space to share your first post…. that you published three years ago; ditto for simply sharing your latest post. These will be removed as well.
  • Avoid repeated “Follow for a follow!” comments or repeatedly replying to comments with your link; this is considered spammy. (Tip: if you’re trying to build a readership, it’s much more effective to visit and comment on individual bloggers.)
  • To keep from losing your place while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on links to open them in a new tab or window.

    1. Hi @Nina,

Your original link brought me to a “page not found” error. I found the post on your blog and corrected the one in your comment above.

    1. Hi @onanothercoast,

First Friday is really a space for brand new people to introduce themselves and meet one another, and for others to welcome and support them. As a blogger blogging since July with a few posts under your blogging belt, I’d suggest checking out the Community Pool, which is where any blogger can seek feedback on any aspect of blogging.

  1. Hi fellow bloggers! I’m an overly passionate film review blogger and have new reviews almost every day. If you could take a few minutes to check out my blog, I would really appreciate it! I try to provide a wide variety of different films so that anyone can find something that would interest them. I have lots of great films lined up to talk about! Any feedback would be awesome and super helpful! Happy blogging! https://reelviewsbysara.wordpress.com/2016/11/20/first-blog-post/

  2. It’s been a long time since I put ink to page. Three years to be exact, and I find that after three years away from writing it’s not as simple as remembering how to “ride the bike”. However, I am excited to stretch my wings and dust off my keyboard.

I created my blog and made my first post last night. I welcome all comments and insight. I look forward to being a part of a writer’s community once again!

    1. Hi @crohnsinthecity

Welcome! I noticed you’re using a lot of tags on your posts. The WordPress.com Reader actually filters out posts that use more than 15 tags and categories (combined) as an anti-spam measure, so using this many tags actually makes it harder for folks to find your work. If you cut your tags down to the most relevant, you’ll actually draw more readers.
