Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Did you recently start your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips you might find useful:

TIP: To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once!
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

    1. I like the layout and the pictures. They make your blog look “glam” without distracting from the writing. It’s a great balance between simple and glamorous. 🙂 I think an about page would be a great thing to add (unless I missed it somehow). Readers will want to know fun facts about you or why you started the blog.

    1. Hi Carol,

I like the imagery and it’s lyrically interesting. I’m struggling a little bit with a lack of context, but that may reflect more on me as a reader than on the poem. Does it have a title? A couple of specifics: personally, I’d try to avoid the close partial repetition of words; wander/wandered being one example, river being the other.

  1. Hi, I just want to say that two weeks ago I joined wordpress after being on blogger for years and years. This is a much more sociable interactive space to post. People actually read things, comment and favourite etc. It is such a fantastic platform that I have two blogs on the go already and haven’t looked and blogger in weeks. Happy me and hello to you all 🙂

  2. Thank you so much for this post. I would love for you guys to pop over to my blog and let me know what you think. I have only been blogging for a couple of months so I’m really quite the beginner! I’m on the August batch of Blogging101, finding it very helpful 🙂

  3. Hi everyone, I’m new to blogging and this is my first time on this community pool. I’ve been having challenges with getting comments and followers on my blog. http://urgist.com is a blog about news, information, celebrities and lots more. Maybe it’s because of my location, I can’t tell. Pls check out urgist.com and what it has to offer. I’d like to know what you think about it.

    1. Hey! You have a great blog there. It’s informative and well organized too. For more followers/views maybe you could share your blog on other social networking platforms (I see you already have FB) and connect with more bloggers on WP. And be patient 🙂 Your work is great, you’ll surely get the audience!

      1. Thanks a lot. I really appreciate. I’ve been working my a** off to get to where I am right now. I started the blog in April, 2015 and since then I haven’t looked back. I just think there’s something I’m missing.

    2. I’m impressed that you’ve decided to even blog about so many huge and diverse topics.
And according to the content, you could pursue online advertising via Facebook and Google.
On WordPress, I guess the best bet would be to interact with as many people as you can via pools, prompts and events.
You could check out two websites here as well: http://uproxx.com, http://time.com and http://bgr.com
You could get some inspiration there.
And of course, the best thing to do is keep publishing great content.

  4. Hello all, again, I return for a second time (maybe I’ll make this a monthly thing…). I was just wondering, I sort of abandoned my usual comedic note for a more serious topic of conversation in my most recent post because of my fool-proof way of finding a prompt (Blogging 101 student, here!) and was just wanted to get myself out there again 🙂 Personally, I prefer my absurd version of positive thinking to my post about regret, but you are free to choose to read whichever you like, if you choose to read at all.
Good day, good night, good afternoon, whatever time of day it may be when you get round to reading this 🙂
Any feedback would be much appreciated.

    1. Hi. Wonderful blog you’ve got there. I’ve got to say I love the way you designed the tags. Is it the theme you use or the you do it manually?

      1. I checked it out. But I was actually referring to the tagged post. Like when you tag your post, and you publish it. I like the way the tag appear under the post.

  5. Hi I started a blog a couple of weeks ago and there is so very much to learn. Its a creative blog rather than a wordy blog, although I am working on a lengthier piece. I would appreciate any feedback at all as its a completely new world to me. I will check out some of the new blogs on here. This is a useful resource to have 🙂 Many thanks in advance ! https://decoupella.wordpress.com/

  6. Hello! I’ve been lacking with my blog since the last community pool I took part in so I would appreciate it if you could give me helpful tips to get me back on track or just things you would like to read or see people talk about, thanks in advance!

  7. Hi all – silly question (quite possibly) but if someone gets email notifications of posts, do they also get a notification if you update it?

I’m forever making typos despite how often I proofread before hitting publish. Was just worrying I might be annoying people!!

I’ve met some lovely bloggers from jumping in the pool once or twice since I began my blog journey a couple of months ago. It’s always great to meet more and receive any feedback on my site. It’s food, photos and fads (a bit of everything really!). Thanks in advance for reading / any answers 🙂

      1. Thank you, that’s nice to hear! (And it was pretty yummy for a bit of a fail!!) It seems we have the same job (your other job outside mommy duties) – enjoyed your about page and left you a comment 🙂

      1. Thank you 🙂 And that’s good to know I’m not bugging anyone (not with updates at least!) I did think about following myself but then thought it would all get a it too meta!

      2. It sounds a bit weird but it’s not the same thing as liking your own posts! You’re just checking that you understand the way your subscribers receive things you send – it’s not always exactly what you might have been expecting!

  8. Hi, everyone!
It’s me again.. I blog about my experience with mental health. Recently, I’ve been going to rehab, so my latest posts reflect that journey.

Please feel free to stop by. I am a trauma survivor.

  9. This is my very first time writing a blog, reading a blog, or commenting. A friend set me up and I am looking forward to this new adventure. I appreciate the friendly tenor of the community.

    1. Nice, but rather simplistic. You should consider adding an About page, perhaps add some widgets. Right now there’s about 30 seconds worth of type and not much posted for a reader to stay interested. The pictures that are there look very nice.

    1. I find places like this Community Pool helpful in driving traffic. Try checking out other blogs and commenting, that helps, too! And be persistent in your blogging…. regular posting gets you known.

  10. Hi lovely people! I’ve never done this before, but all of you seem wonderful and positive, so I’m diving in.

I haven’t written on my blog- http://littlecreativeshits.wordpress.com- for a while, but I’m gearing up to get back to being regular (no poo pun intended..), and would love to be able to connect with all of you through it.

It’s a hodge-podge of fiction (short, long, and sometimes super-short) and whatever feelings are being felt however fleetingly. Hope you enjoy, and love to all of you!

  12. Wrote this a little while ago. It’s about my feelings when gay marriage got legalized in America. They were conflicted and scared because I’m Catholic and I was like, “What do we do now?” https://lunasimaginationigloo.wordpress.com/2015/06/29/accepting-gay-marriage/
Here’s also a more recent post showing that not all feminists agree and it talks about one of the disagreements that feminists have among themselves. It shows that feminism’s not fully united, contrary to what some people believe. https://lunasimaginationigloo.wordpress.com/2015/08/14/according-to-jessica-valenti-im-not-a-real-feminist-feminism-vs-religion/
I would love to hear your opinion on this.

      1. Thanks! Yeah I love to dance. I don’t feel like my back would do well with anything too intense yet, but I weightlift on and off 🙂

There are so many styles of martial arts you could check out. They have different ideologies, so it’s nice to find one that matches you personal style or takes it to the next level.
