    1. Hi Ring Lady, saw myself entirely in your text. I’m still searching for a more lasting way to escape the ‘mundanity’ of everyday life than by reading or wandering from place to place! You wrote your piece with a nice flow, found myself drawn in after the first few lines, so good job 🙂

  1. Hi people,
I just created the following page http://javigoldstein.wordpress.com/
If I send a link to somebody and the person clicks on that link, he/she can enter into the page with no problem.
However, if me or anybody writes the page address in google, my page does not come up in the search.
Nor comes up my page if I search it with my name.
    Could anyone help me out.
    Thanks,

  5. I actually had my blog for quite sometime but just started to blog seriously this month, I’m a very bad writer and I can’t seem to write smoothly. Also suggestion about blog appearance would be good! (I haven’t done anything other than choosing a theme…) Thank you

  6. Hey I’d love to get your advice on the layout of my blog, as well as the descriptions of the photographs. I’m struggling to find the perfect theme to suit my style of blog as it is mainly photographs but I love the quirkiness of the balloon theme. Thanks so much! abitofsomethingyoufancy.wordpress.com

    1. Hi Nadja,
I don’t think you are using the balloon theme at the moment, so it is hard for me to gauge if it goes well with your content.

The 2014 theme seems to work well for you, and is easily navigable for what you have there at present. As you get more content, I would recommend adding recent posts, the archive, and maybe comments to your sidebar, so people can connect with what you have written easier. Good luck

  7. hey everyone, so I am new to WordPress but have never asked people to look at my page. I would really appreciate feedback on any of my writings and don’t be afraid to be critical (or to praise them lol). thank you so much!

    1. I may be wrong, but the statistics are not always accurate. For example, if your followers view the post through email delivery. They are not visiting the blog, even though they are supporting your work. Perhaps insert some humor, more personalized pictures, and lighter topics. Good luck!

  8. As a witness to a school shooting I have shared my experience and the struggles I have been through in hopes to help anyone who has gone through similar experiences. How do I bring more of my target audience to my blog? http://jessieell.wordpress.com/
The blog isn’t exclusively dedicated to this topic but it is my main purpose for creating it.

    1. This is a tough topic to cover. I’m sorry that you had to witness such a thing too.
In London there was a woman who became really well known for her blog that started as something random, but then she was caught up in the tube bombings, and wrote about that. She became known, and in some ways a kind of spokeperson for the victims, because her blog got picked up in a chat room, then journalists read it and contacted her for interviews. I think you may try reaching out to affected communities, if you feel that what you have to share will help.
However, I will also offer a word of caution – the woman who I am referring to found that having to constantly relive her experience and write articles, and comment, and represent people at hearings and so on was a huge strain on her. I think she also suffered from malicious and persistant attacks from certain trolling sections of the internet, as well as some conspiracy theorists who accused her of being a shill for all manner of ridiculous agencies. It got too much for her in the end, and she withdrew from public life, and has taken down her blog. I am not saying that writing on sensitive topics will always attract such people, but please be aware and have the support systems in place, because it just might.
Anyway, I wish you luck, because it seems to me that writing about your feelings is helpful to you.

      1. Thanks for the response. I appreciate you taking the time to review some of my material and appreciate your words of caution. It has helped me to write and I have had a few people reach out to me and let me know that the blog has helped them. Again, thank-you.
