Community Pool

The Community Pool is for those of you looking for input, whether on post ideas, writing, blog design and layout, or anything else. If you have a post, page, or idea you want to bounce off someone, leave a comment. Your fellow bloggers can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Read on for the ground rules and to leave a comment . . .

  • You’ll get the best feedback if you can be as specific as possible about what you’d like people to respond to or where you’re struggling.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. We’re here to help and support one another, not to beat anyone down.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • No running on the deck.

    1. I love how you write about nature and the amazing things that plants do. I especially love the story of the mustard seed, because it reminding me of my own spiritual views. Keep on writing; it’s fantastic!

  1. Hello there cycling fans. I’m new to blogging and still trying to find the right tone of voice. My latest piece has a comic edge to it – i’m keen not to get bogged down in writing that is too earnest (serious is fine, just not earnest). Any feedback on the tone of any of my posts gratefully received,
    Thanks in advance

    1. Can I put my blog so that it appears in Travel? – I’m new enough to not know if there’s a specific way to be listed that way BUT I do know that when you “tag” your blog, but the keywords for how you want to be found. “Travel” Travels” Travelling” etc.

The way you find other blogs is to click on “reader” at the top of your screen. On the right side is a search field where you can type in subjects that you want to find.

      Happy hunting! 🙂

  3. I would love some feedback on how my serial novel is going. It’s a fantasy story related to the novels I am working on, and I feel like some comments would help me take it in the right direction.

  4. Hey! I’m new to the blogging scene and have no idea how to get readers or how to change my blog from rated E for everyone to rated MA for mature. It’s called the happy housewife and features recipes and crafts and a touch of mature audience only, steamy hot romance stories that knock about in my mind that I want to jot down. Here’s the link.

  5. Hello i’m Daniel a humor blogger and i’m putting together a blog post about twerking and i would like bloggers to contribute. Twerking is something that is very popular in the USA and i just find it hilarious on how, where, or why people twerk nowadays. I’m putting a together mini essays from different people on what they have to say about it. You can share an advice, experience, story, or even an opinion on twerking. Please reply to the comment if interested, I really need your help. Thanks!

  6. Hi, I write my blog in both English (my first language) and French (my second). My current system is to alternate between writing one post only in English, the next in both, and the third only in French. I was also thinking about doing two in a row in each category because one time I started a post in English and discovered that it was too long to write the translation under it. If there are any other bilingual bloggers out there I would really appreciate advice on how to balance it. Or if you could just read it to get a better idea of what I do, that would be great too.

    1. Check with you city to see what community classes they might offer. Ooh! Another good place is the local library. There are plenty of books on writing and some libraries even offer free online classes on different subject matters.

      1. Yes i read a lot and generally i love reading. The technical aspect of writing and referencing is what eludes me. For example. i have been to college, I know the concepts of grammar and sentence structures. What i have problems with is languages. i.e. sales language in conjunctions with emotional connection to bring across enthusiasm.

  9. Hello, any feedback on how professional my first blog post sounds? (This doesn’t even sound reasonable enough to ask for…) And it would be appreciated if I got any followers my first day here. c:

  12. Hey there! Well, like most of you here, I am also new to WordPress. My blog is roughly 5 days old and I am currently finding ways on how to promote my blog. I came across Nuffnang and immediately created an account. It was only after I verified my account when I found out that Nuffnang won’t allow me to register my WordPress blog. I’m wondering if any of you have other sites to suggest where I could basically promote my blog and gain more readers. I’m not necessarily looking for communities that pay you with every bulk of a visit. I only want to gain readers. Suggestions for ways on how to gain more readers are also welcome. Thanks!
