I went on holding them, did not know how to fold them.
I learnt to fold them, and not to hold them.
Now I learn to fold them, yet hold them, artfully

here is a funny story that proves that I do NOT always know when to hold ’em, fold ’em or walk away…. http://believeanyway.wordpress.com/2011/11/09/overspending-seasons-is-here-already-funny-story/

Kenny Rogers or WHOMEVER wrote that song, is a friggin genius. It’s about learning when to walk away from a situation, or when to stay and duke it out. It’s about not assuming you are “in the clear” when there’s more work to be done. (“You never count your money | When youre sittin at the table | There’ll be time enough for countin | When the dealins done”)
Brilliant.
