Star Wars: A New Hope. The last time I saw it I was watching it with some friend’s and their two-year-old. My wife scolded me for trying to convert the girl into being a nerd, but she really enjoyed it.

The Return of the King. Nine times in the theater with my younger daughter. My older girl was in high school and the younger one was still being homeschooled, so we’d go for the noon show at the Uptown in DC, which is a big old theater. It was always empty, maybe six others there at most. We’d sit in the front row of the balcony. The screen is so big, we could see Elijah Wood’s contact lenses in the closeups. I’ve watched all of the Lord of the Rings movies many many times on DVD.

Purple Rain, too many times to count. Several with my parents as they tried to block my eyes during the sex scenes and many more with friends, especially boyfriends.

Grease. I’ve seen it probably close to 12 times . I even saw it when I was overseas . I saw it with a friend right before going overseas and I even recorded the music to the embarrasment of my friend. I guess she didn’t really like that .

Hmm, that is a toughy! I think it is a tie with Lord of the Rings, and now Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (the Elizabeth taylor,Paul Newman version). Cat on a hot tin roof, is great at showing that when people love you, you will work out the conflict. 🙂

I’ve probably watched ‘Rear Window’ and ‘Vertigo’ more than any others. I never tire of Hitchcock.

The winner is probably “Esther” with F. Murray Abraham and Louise Lombard (as the Biblical Queen Esther). I have seen it too many times to count. I love the costuming, and the location is beautiful. I watch it at least once every month, even though I know the script by heart.

A close run would be – SINGING IN THE RAIN or THE THREE-HUNDRED SPARTANS.

When Harry Met Sally. I watched it two nights ago and I’ve watched it dozens of times. I was on my own. I’m a big softy at heart and this movie is just a classic love story with great one-liners throughout.

I watch it on holidays and TBS runs a 24 hour marathon of the movie. Plus, I always watch it a few times during the summer. It makes me feel jolly when it’s hellish hot outside.
