Topic #16
Here’s today’s topic idea:
Describe the wackiest but most useful advice you’ve ever received.
Reminder: Do not answer this in the comments. That would be very silly. You should grab this topic and write a post about it on your blog.

Great idea! here in Chile we get lots of wacky advice… though I’m not sure it’s particularly useful!

haha that topic is awesome! I’d be very curious to see some of the answers people give actually.

I can’t help myself… What’s the wackiest but most useful advice I’ve ever heard? How about posting every single day for a whole year? ha ha ha ha.

Wacky Advice: Don’t listen to others, because their ideas are usually wacky.

A most interesting topic – though a bit tough if you don’t typically receive advice that often. This one will take some thought.

Interesting indeed. I can’t think of one fast too but it would surely occupy my thoughts while idle tomorrow :p

Not really a subject for me. I only take advices from myself, and I don’t want to show how wacky I am 😦

No momento não me lembro de nada, mesmo porque eu resolvo o que quero, e não aceito conselhos, penso bastante no que devo fazer, para não cometer erros. Isso não quer dizer que não erro.
prefiro errar só.

As a junior officer in the Navy, I took over my early morning watch post still feeling the effects from the previous late night. An old salty sea dog walked up to me and said, “Son, let me give you a little piece of advice. Get your head out of your rear!” Actually used a little saltier word than rear, but his advice was wacky yet to the point.

This was a hard one for me to do, after working all night.

“I generally take advise from a lot of people on a particular issue, and go and do the exact reverse. That, is my secret to success!” – I don’t remember who said this, but I found that whacky enough!! 😉

Never received any whacky advice. Except as a child form my Mother.
But good advice for mentors:Always be open to possibilities.
Thinking is sometimes overrated.
Take the path less traveled you will meet other people of like interest their.
Worrying creates anxiety, anxiety creates chaos, and chaos creates destruction and destruction creates pain.

I have nothing to say, so I wrote a silent post.

How can I see all the responses? It would be interesting to know how many responses were issued in total. I don’t see mine there and assume these listed were the first, the best, or the last. I posted mine at nearly twelve last night and was suffering from jet lag and had many mistakes which I corrected today when my aging brain was better rested.
Love this challenge. Plan to stay involved to the end–if the Force, God, all Gods and Goddesses and my brain permit. Staying strong and wishing the same for all.

I had so much reading everyone’s wacky advice, I nearly forgot to post!! Oh no! Thankfully, I got in on time, not with wacky advice, but with a writing prompt which I plan to post every Sunday, but instead of using words as the prompt, I’m using photos. Come visit!

Worst advice I’ve ever taken was to do a degree in Playwriting and Theatre Arts. Useless.

I like your degree! 😀 So far I end up finishing a Business Course instead of Fine Arts or something creative like Playwriting & Theater Arts. 🙂

Finally worked up the courage to publish mine, with a little twist anyway. A bit heavy and personal I guess, but there you are. http://anafelixpires.wordpress.com/2011/01/16/bad-advice-is-bad/
