Here are two challenges we’re organizing: Post A Day and Post A Week. You can pick which, and then you’ll be committed to posting once a day, or once a week, for all of 2011. We’ll support and encourage you from this blog every step of the way.
You can join up any time – don’t worry if a few days or weeks have gone by, start now.
Signing up is simple – do the following:
- Post on your blog that you’re participating (you can grab a sample post here).
- Start using the tag postaday2011 or postaweek2011 with your posts (tips on tagging here).
- Subscribe to The Daily Post via email thru the sidebar, or via RSS, and you’ll start getting reminders and inspiration every day.
- If you’d like a badge for your blog’s sidebar, get one here!
Once we see your first post, it will help us get a sense for how many people are involved in each program.
And if you need a new blog, it’s easy – go here to grab one.
Got it? Awesome. Glad you’re on board.

I see you write fiction. I recently came across this post about writing techniques. It’s not specifically about any genre, but could be useful http://michellelocke.wordpress.com/2010/12/27/10-writing-exercises-i-cant-live-without/ Good writing!

When I tried that link, I got a page that said the site was locked out. Does that mean the blogger is not making it available, or that WordPress is locking her out?

😦
Sorry about that. No idea what happened. I should have saved that post… Some of the advice was to imagine what the character you are writing about has in their trash bin… To use a random Wikipedia page as inspiration… Etc. What a strange thing.

P.S. I think ‘locked out’ is just the name of the blog. I tried looking for a Google cache copy, but nothing found so far.

Last year I did a photo-a-day blog, this year it will continue as a post-a-day blog. 🙂 Still with photos, but not the OMG-it’s-the-end-of-the-day-and-i-still-need-to-snap-a-shot-of-something type captures. LMAO If I haven’t photographed anything, well, I’m not going to beat myself up over it. 😉

I think once a week will be a start for me, don’t want to set myself up to fail. If I do more I will feel I’ve out-done myself, surpassed my goal.

Off and running into 2011 with the ambitious PostADay commitment. No time like the present to see how 365 days shape into the outline of a life through words. Yeehaw & good luck, ya’lls!

I have decided to try the post a day challenge, I just hope I will be able to meet the goal, but seeing that so many people are getting involved has inspired me to give it a try.

Well, I’m giving it a try. Just did my first post, being like the sample one, letting everyone know this is what I’m doing. I like the first topic too, about where you want to travel

I’m joining in. I wrote a lot in 2010, more than a post a day actually but not one each day as such. I’ll do it this year.. it’s a challenge I’m setting myself: to do at the minimum one post each day. I’ll take the topics from here too.. 😀
Cheers n Happy New Year..

I will succumb. Reluctantly, I resolve to drag my noodle to the keyboard at least weekly. Plinking, ever plinking, I will plunk out entry after entertaining entry.
~OR~
Whoo hoo! I relish the challenge and shall rise to the occasion with vigor and fortitude!
How ’bout I shoot for the ~OR~, which is somewhere in the middle? Either extreme is better than not writing at all… and I look forward to the day when it’s just flowing out of me, with no self discipline required, and no need to psyche myself up… it’s just a peaceful and joyful natural expression. That, I can aim for.
