Setting up the Home Page Template

  1. Create a Page, preferably titled “Home.”
  2. In Page Optionsselect the “Home Page” template.
  3. Navigate to Customize → Static Front Page.
  4. Choose the option to display a static page for the Front page.
  5. Select your newly created “Home” page from the Front page drop down list.
  6. Click the blue Save button.

Homepage Featured Content Slider

  1. Add a tag to the posts you wish to display in the Slider. We recommend “featured.”
  2. Navigate to Customize → Featured Content.
  3. Enter the name of the tag you’ve chosen to use, e.g. “featured.”
  4. Click the blue Save button at the bottom.

Once a tag name has been saved in the Customizer, posts with this tag will appear in the featured content slider on the Home Page template. You can specify an image to be displayed with each post by setting a featured image. The suggested size for featured images is 1800 pixels wide and 800 pixels high.

Display Homepage Search Bar and Social Icons

  1. Make sure a page is chosen under Customize → Static Front Page  Front Page
  2. Apply the Home Page template to that page.
  3. Ensure you have a Featured Image selected for the page.

Configured Home Page Content Areas

Luxury – A WordPress theme for luxury brands br fashion blogs and classy websites.

  1. Navigate to Customize → Theme Options  Home Page Template.
  2. Choose the pages you would like to appear on the homepage using “Home Template Featured Page One,” “…Two,” “…Three,” and “…Four.”
  3. Click the blue Save button at the bottom.

You can specify an image to be displayed in the background of each “Featured Page” post by setting a featured image for that post.

Menus

Luxury has four locations where you can add Custom Menus:

Left Menu – Displays to the left of the Site Logo or Site Title on larger screens. Hidden on mobile.

Right Menu – Displays to the left of the Site Logo or Site Title on larger screens. Hidden on mobile.

Mobile Menu – Expandable menu at the top of the site on smaller screens. Hidden on larger screens.

Social Menu – The list of social media icons/links that will display in the site’s footer. Luxury includes icons for the following services:

To utilize these Menu Locations, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Customize → Menus
  2. Click Add a Menu to create a new menu. Or select an existing menu.
  3. Add the desired pages or links
  4. Under Display Location,  select the area in which you’d like the menu to show.

Widget Areas

Luxury has three widget areas, add widgets to these areas to activate them.

Default Sidebar – Displays to the right of Post or Page content.

Left Sidebar  – Displays to the left of Page content if the page has the Three Column template applied to it.

Footer Widgets – Displays in the Footer of the site, above the site info and Social Links.

Buttons

In the Luxury demo and the screen shot above, there is an “Example Button” in the first section. Luxury includes a CSS class that allows you to create a button on any post or page. When editing a page or post, switch to the HTML/Text editor and enter the following code, replacing the example link and text with your own:

In the “Contact” section, we used the “Read More” tag to display an excerpt of the page’s text and create a similar button. Using the Visual Editor to edit a Page or Post, place your cursor where you’d like to break the text, then select “Insert Read More tag.” This will both split the text and create the “read more” link, which displays as a button.

Setting Up a Blog Page

Setting up a Blog Page is similar to setting up a Home Page.

  1. Create a Page, preferably titled “Blog.“
  2. Navigate to Customize → Static Front Page.
  3. You should already have selected the option to display a static page under “Front page displays.”
  4. Select your newly created “Blog” page from the “Posts page” drop down list.
  5. Click the blue Save button.

Using the Projects Page Template

  1. Create a Page.
  2. In Page Optionsselect the “Projects” template.
  3. Click the blue Publish button.
  4. Navigate to Portfolio → Add New.
  5. Add a title and content for your new post.
  6. You can set an image for the post by adding a featured image to the post.
  7. Click the blue Publish button.

After creating and publishing multiple Portfolio (aka Project) pages, your “Projects” page should look similar to the screen shot on the right from our demo.

Three-Column Page Template

  • When creating a new page, choose the “Three Column” template.
  • Be sure to add Widgets to both Left Sidebar and Right Sidebar under Customize → Widgets. Both of those sidebars will appear on either side of the page.
