Bitácora — an old-school theme for a sidebar revival.

Layout

We’ve repeatedly heard that “we need a theme with a sidebar”, and we thought it’d be good to add a theme that shows a sidebar in an obvious way. The sidebar is included in every template in the theme and is a good width (max 300px) for ads and all the widget-y things.

The main column has a not-too-wide width (max 543px), so it accommodates portrait images well without being a huge image that pushes the content down.

Style

The main font is the renowned beautiful typeface Alegreya, a typeface originally intended for literature, and it facilitates the reading of long texts.

You’ll see various typographic refinements throughout the theme, and those will remind you of classic blogs from the past.

Plenty of white space is distributed throughout the theme to give each element on the page a strong presence without fighting each other.

It also comes with five colour variations.
