Site Logo

Add a Site Logo to Bindery

To add your logo, go to your Customizer and select the Site Identity section. Then, use the Add logo tool.

Your logo will be shown at a maximum height of 200px, but uploading a larger image will ensure that the logo stays sharp on high-resolution screens. We recommend a logo at least 400px tall.

If you’d like to display the logo by itself, uncheck the Display Header Text box.

Bindery Portfolio Page with Filters

Show off your work with Bindery‘s dashing portfolio, displaying your projects in a sharp grid.

Adding project images

Bindery Portfolio Project

Portfolio projects are designed to show off images of your work. We recommend adding both a Featured Image and a Gallery to your projects.

Add a Featured Image to Bindery

The featured image will be shown as a cover graphic when listing your projects. Be sure to use large images at least 960px wide, so that your work stays sharp on large screens.

Add a Gallery to Bindery

When you add a Gallery to your project, the gallery images will be pulled out of the body of your post and displayed beautifully on the right side. Any captions you add will also be displayed. Again, don’t forget to use large images!

Portfolio Page Template

Add a Portfolio Page to Bindery

After creating some projects, you’ll want to add a new page to display everything in a neat, filterable grid. Do this by adding a new page, and assigning the Portfolio Page template to it in the Page Attributes box.

Now you can add this page to your Primary Menu, or set it as the Front Page.

Portfolio Shortcode

It is also possible to embed projects on any other Post or Page with the Portfolio Shortcode. This is a great way to link to a project from a blog post.

Attachment Page

Bindery's Attachment Page View

The Attachment Page displays photos with captions, descriptions, and EXIF data such as camera make and shutter speed. When inserting media into your posts, activate the Attachment Page by changing the Link To option under the Attachment Display Settings section.

Text Styles

Bindery includes special styles for written content. In order to enable them, you will need to insert them manually into the HTML of your posts or pages. To access the HTML, select the Text tab from your content editor.

Introduction Text

Bindery's Introduction text style

Designed to draw in readers, this style can give your first paragraph extra weight. Add this style to your text by putting it within <p class="intro"> tags like this:

<p class="intro">This text will be formatted as Introduction Text</p>

Bindery's Sidenotes text style

Sidenotes are great for adding little pieces of related information to your content. They also make fancy image captions. You can add this style to your text by embedding it inside <span class="sidenote"> tags like this:

<span class="sidenote">This text will be formatted as a Sidenote.</span>

Pull Quotes

Bindery's Pull-Quote text style

Pull quotes break text out from flow of your content. Use them to give emphasis to juicy quotes or key arguments. Embed your text in <blockquote> tags to activate this style:

<blockquote class="pullquote">This text will be formatted as a Pull Quote</blockquote>

Bindery provides room to display widgets underneath your site’s content, in the footer area. You can enable them from the Customizer in the Widgets section.
