Delete a Template

You can delete a template you created in the Site Editor. This guide will show you how.

Deleting Templates

You can delete templates that you created. You cannot delete the standard templates that came with your theme, but you can reset their changes or change the template a page uses.

While in the Site Editor, navigate to TemplatesAll templates to view a list of your site’s templates. Templates you created will show your name, while templates from your theme will show the theme name:

Delete a Template

To quickly delete one template, take the following steps:

  1. From your site’s dashboard, navigate to Appearance → Editor.
  2. On the left sidebar, select the “Templates” option.
  3. On the main page, click on the ellipsis (three dots) corresponding to the template name you created that you wish to delete.
  4. Select the “Delete” option from the menu.
  5. Click on the button labeled “Delete” to confirm the deletion.

If you’re already editing a template, click the logo at the top left of your screen to open the template’s left sidebar, where you will find the ellipsis (three dots) menu to delete the template.

Delete Multiple Templates

To delete multiple templates at once, follow these steps:

  1. From your dashboard, navigate to Appearance → Editor.
  2. On the left sidebar, select “Templates” and then the “Manage all templates” option.
  3. Tick the box corresponding to each template you want to delete.
  4. Click the “Edit x items” button at the top right to bulk-delete the selected templates.
