Bio
My name is Marly! I am currently a dual degree Senior at the University of South Florida, studying for a B.A. in Creative Writing and a B.S. in Secondary English Education. I spend almost all of my time in some kind of teaching capacity and I enjoy every second of it. I believe every student needs someone on their side when it comes to their education, and I work my hardest to make sure I am always there for my students. I have spent three years working in front of a classroom as a volunteer teaching assistant, substitute, observer, intern, and student. I've been an instructional substitute over all grade levels and a multitude of different subjects. I also have over a year of tutoring experience for English classes of all levels and subjects (including Advanced Placement and Creative Writing). I love tutoring because it is yet another way for me to be there as an educator for students who need the assistance. I make an effort to consistently design lesson plans for my students in order to best facilitate their learning.
I have been published three times in a row in a state-wide high school literary magazine and published in USF's literary magazine thread. I have also studied abroad in England twice for Shakespeare and Literature courses. I've worked with multiple focus groups on outlining, editing, and revising papers, and have proctored English testing at the high school level in local schools. I spend a great deal of time working to better myself as an educator and as a student. I am always available to answer questions, offer advice, teach tips, tricks, and strategies, and teach individualized lesson plans based on subject and student needs.
I am always available to students who need me, and I always look forward to hearing from you! I benefit from feedback, resources, and questions from students and parents, so feel free to contact me anytime. I respond quickly and am interested in hearing from you. If you're interested in scheduling a lesson or asking a question, reach out and I will be in touch as soon as possible.
