Bio
Retired software designer interested in artificial intelligence and especially new approaches to natural language processing (NLP). I have also become interested in the relationship between science and philosophy and the implications for metaphysics and epistemology in this relationship.
Here are some details for those who are interested in my philosophical writings. I am now 86 and have had aphantasia all my life. This means that I have no ¨mind's eye", that is, no ability to recall past episodes visually. I can only recall verbal descriptions of past events. This lack of capability also extends to my other senses so that I, for example, cannot recall how something smells. I also have a condition called Severe Deficient Autobiographical Memory (SDAM) which means that I have difficulty recalling details about events that have happened in the past.
While these conditions have not impacted my ability to live a good life, they may have affected my philosophical positions.
