Zemanta not working

Does anyone know why Zemanta is not working. The images are not working at all. it was working a few weeks ago. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt but its been doing pretty well up til now. Please help with any info. Thanks

Zemanta is working on neither Firefox or Chrome. It’s disappeared completely from Chrome; according to the link on the Webstore, it’s added, but it doesn’t show up at all. I downloaded again to Firefox; it tries to load–and tries and tries and tries–but doesn’t. I’m using WP Admin. Can you help? The photos are a real asset. kathywaller1.com

There are a couple of other posts about it and it doesn’t work for either of my blogs, either, even though the “light” comes on when the editor is up. Maybe it’s something on Zemanta’s end?

Maybe it’s something on Zemanta’s end?
The last report of Zemanta really working was 21 months ago and from the looks of it, Zemanta stopped updating the extension a while ago. Most other blogging platforms (i.e. Blogger) are having problems with the extension and it appears they have closed down support as well.
Unfortunately, whatever functionality the extension currently has is the most you’ll get from it.

Zemanta worked fine for me until about a week ago.
Are there any other auto-linking services?

Here are a list of alternatives that I found. I personally have not used any of them, so I can’t say for sure which ones are worth trying.

Good to hear! There must be someone at Zemanta still patching things up – I wasn’t sure of that for a while there.

And it appears to have been down again for the past few days, at least for me. Neither of my sites have anything other than the “wake the engineers/retry” notation.

Yeah, I feared that this would happen – and as I found out a while ago, it is an issue on Zemanta’s end and their custom service doesn’t seem to be responding to inquiries anymore. Hopefully it goes back up soon.

Zemanta now displays “Terrible Error.” The engineers don’t wake up, and clicking Retry results in another Terrible Error. It was nice while it lasted.

There has to be someone monitoring things on their end. My hope is that the error is temporary. If I somehow get in touch with their customer service, I’ll keep you all updated on what I find out.

As sorry as I am that this seems to be a wide-spread problem, I am also a little relieved that it’s not just me. My story matches every post here identically. I’ll leave the Chrome extension in place for now, in hopes that there is someone at Zemanta working on this. Fingers crossed, and thanks!

Yep, not just you. It’s been an off and on again issue over the last year and a half. Hopefully we’ll see some type of fix/update soon.
