WordPress.com Domain transfer error
-
I’m trying to move my domain to godaddy.com. I purchased the hosting and a domain transfer through godaddy. I am currently unable to transfer the domain I purchased through wordpress.com.
I would love any help!
Thanks a million.
if you don’t really get the issue feel free to ask for more info specifically!

You might have to talk with staff about that. Was it more than 60 days ago that you purchased the domain here? If not, there is an internet rule that you cannot transfer a domain name to a different registrar till 60 days after it was originally purchased.

I’m aware of the 60 day rule and I’m actually 8 days past the 60 day mark so there should be o issue there. It’s not even recognizing it. I’m going to contact wordpress if I need to, but they’re not here to support until january 3rd..
Thanks :)

I’ll tag this thread for staff attention and hopefully they will see it and respond since they are monitoring the forums.

I don’t see any particular reasons as to why a transfer of your domain would fail.
Just to make sure, are you following this guide?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#transfer-to-another-registrar
If so, at which point does it fail?

Step 8: It says there should be a thing popping up in the ‘pending transfer’ section, but there isn’t for me. I followed the instructions three times and it still won’t work.

@samwelkertv Note that step 7 says “Once you receive an email saying the transfer will be completed if no action is taken, you can choose to manually approve it.”
Check to see if the transfer authorization email sent to the domain name’s administrative contact was received and that you followed the instructions in that email. You won’t see any pending transfers in step 8 until step 7 is completed.

I get an email, but it has nothing to do with that. All it says is the authorization code. I promise i followed the instructions, i’m getting some error. I’m calling GoDaddy tomorrow to see if it’s their site doing it.

There should be a separate email from your new registrar. If you didn’t receive that, checking with your new registrar (GoDaddy) is the right thing to do.

Well that just solved. I obviously had to over think the thing and spend a day doing it all wrong. Thanks a billion for the help everyone! :D I really appreciate it!
