why doesn’t the ‘get in touch’ button link to anything

  • i’m using the twenty twenty three template. The ‘get in touch’ button doesn’t link to anything. What do I need to do to activate it

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there, I see a link there that looks like you wanted it to be an email link. While you could create a mailto: link that would open your site visitor’s email program, for the sake of your email address not being scooped up by spambots, I strongly suggest you consider linking that “get in touch” button to a Contact page on your site.

You’ll still get an email when someone submits the contact form on that page, but your email address won’t be visible to spambots and the Akismet antispam program in use here will filter any spam contact messages to the Feedback spam folder automatically. You can reply via your email to any contact form submissions.

Regardless, here’s more information on how to create a mailto: link https://wordpress.com/support/email-links/

And more information on adding a new page on your site: https://wordpress.com/support/pages/ and about adding the contact form to that page https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/form-block/ and there are lots of pre-made patterns for contact pages that you can add instead.

Once you’ve created and published the new Contact page, you can edit the footer of your site to add the link to that button. https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/links/

Hope that helps but post back here to let us know if you need more help with this.
