Why doesn't linking to existing content work anymore?
-
I used to be able to link to existing content when creating a new blog post by simply highlighting text, clicking on the hyperlink button, and selecting ‘link to existing content’. A list of my own blog posts would come up and I could just select the one I wanted to link to. I haven’t seen this option in quite some time and I really miss it. Now I am stuck opening a new tab and searching for the post I want. Not the end of the world – just a First World Problem – but it was much quicker and more efficient the other way and I was wondering why this changed, or if I’m just not looking in the right place. I did go on blogging hiatus for many months so I may have missed something.
Thanks for any tips!

It’s missing in the new editor and that’s a known issue https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/editor-feedback?replies=749 but that issue does not exist in the classic editor.
You cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor but you do not have to use it. For locating the ways and means of accessing the legacy or classic pages for creating posts, editing posts, and for viewing stats see here > Navigating the Classic WordPress.COM interface http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2015/04/05/navigating-the-classic-wordpress-com-interface/
On the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
To create posts in the classic editor for you that link ishttp://jackywithay.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php

Thanks so much! That is super helpful! Sounds like there are indeed quite a few people who have requested that this feature be brought back, so hopefully they will include it in the future. In the meantime, the classic editor will be great to use.
Thanks again for the info!
