Where did my dashboard go?

  • When I click on my bookmarked page for my dashboard (the one with Stats & Insights, and where I can select pages to edit), it is an empty page. If I access my site through its homepage, click on a page, and then scroll down to the Edit option at the end of the page, I again receive an empty page where I used to have the ability to edit that page. I’m guessing this has something to do with the new Block Editor, but I can’t find an email or answer in the forum where it explicitly states what to do.

  • Hi @gorillabay8, this sounds like a browser issue. Can you try clearing your cache to see if that helps?

    If that does not, try another browser and let us know more about the browser you’re using.

  • That did not work. I cannot get anything…for profile, billing history, basically anything, the fields are just blank. If I select “My Site” at the top, it goes to a blank page. Now if I log onto my site it treats me as a visitor rather than its administrator, it’s not even giving me the option of customizing/editing. Basically, it’s like my site exists, and my username is just some kind of shell with no content. And in the email containing confirmation of my renewal payment back in May, it gives the option of contacting a Happiness Engineer, and when I do that I get a box that says Contact at the top but has no fields below it, or has fields but they are blank.

    Your dashboard loads fine on my end. Please try the following:

    * Check that JavaScript is enabled and supported by your browser:

    http://enable-javascript.com/

    * Disable any ad-blocking and security extensions on your browser

    * Log-out and log back into your WordPress.com account.

    * Check that you’re using the latest version of your browser:

    http://www.whatbrowser.org/

    * Try another browser:

    https://browsehappy.com/

    If all of the above doesn’t work or you have more questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help!

  • This is the usual replies…no settings have changed on my computer, I don’t need to use another browser, etc. If it worked fine before, it should work again. Now I have to consider canceling my account, and go with someone else, since I can’t edit my site.

  • We’re having no trouble accessing and interacting with your site’s Dashboard. Please try the steps posted above.

  • Okay, well it might be something with Edge, because I can find it with Chrome. There must have been an update that screwed things up, since I had been able to access via Edge before (a little website digging indicates similar problems cropped up for other users).

    So for now I’ll just use Chrome whenever I want to edit my site.

    JavaScript with Edge is very confusing. I can’t tell if it is running or not, or how to enable if needed. It is simpler just to stick with Chrome, though I’m still irritated about the issue.

  • I am also having this issue, for the first time today. When I login, it won’t load my sites or any stats. I can’t see any info for my account other than my username.

  • @gorillabay8 I’m glad you figured out it’s a browser issue. You could try clearing cache and what not to see if that helps, if you prefer the other browser.
